Wooden Ships Comments on this Chamberlain Dory Rowing Skiff Professionally built in 2020 to the lines of a Chamberlain Dory Skiff from John Gardner, as seen in his book Building Classic Small Craft. The builder stretched the length slightly to gain more leg room for rowing but kept the same beam to create a slippery rowing boat that is still nice and stable.Wooden Ships Comments on this Chamberlain Dory Rowing Skiff Professionally built in 2020 to the lines of a Chamberlain Dory Skiff from John Gardner, as seen in his book Building Classic Small Craft. The builder stretched the length slightly to gain more leg room for rowing but kept the same beam to create a slippery rowing boat that is still nice and stable. Professional quality build and finish, she has recently had a fresh paint and varnish job so she is ready for her new owners. Comes with a launching trolley. Length 15’ Beam 4’   Construction Clinker planked in 8mm Robbins Elite marine plywood. The strakes are large which is common for American boats of this design with only 3 strakes per side. Bottom strake is 16mm plywood for added strength. Strakes are glued using SP epoxy resin and bronze ring nails where required. Laminated Douglas fir stem and frames. Only 3 frames per side, fastened with A4 stainless screws. Mahogany transom with sawn mahogany quarter knees. Laminated douglas fir gunwhales with an oak rubbing strake and oak rowlock risers.
