Scanmar 33. Designed by Rolf Magnussen and built by Borjesson Brothers (Scanmar AB), Sweden, in 1989. Constructed of hand laid GRP with off-white topsides and distinctive red hull bands. Teak decking on cockpit seats, with teak sole grating. A well planned, 3/4 fractional rigged, Bermudan sloop from a recognised Swedish yard, "Scintilla of Poole” has a fin keel, supported skeg rudder and wheel steering.
Volvo Penta 27HP 2003 diesel inboard sail drive regularly serviced engine, new sail drive leg 2012, Isomat alloy spars. Fully battened main, slab reefing, furling head sail, genoa, and coaster with bag. Standing rigging replaced 2015. She sleeps 6/7 in two cabins with 2 double berths and 3 single. Separate heads and heating. A fast, easily handled boat, rigged for shorthanded crews with all halyards and lines led to the cockpit. Very well equipped with many extras including holding tank, shore power, 3 x batteries, cabin heating, compass, speed, wind, Garmin GPS, Simrad plotter, Nasa clipper log and echo sounder, Raytheon radar, Autopilot, VHF plus hand held VHF, bronze folding prop, spray hood, dodgers, engine spares, and many other extras.
