One can arguably consider the Baba 40 a full keel boat that put the word "performance" next to "cruiser” Cadenza inherits a good turn of speed - owners even trumpet around-the-buoys racing victories in these serious blue water cruisers. They are beautifully balanced with a wonderful feel at the helm, and what's more, they have some of the best interiors to be seen in production cruising yachts.

Down the companionway above the engine compartment, you will have a stateroom to Starboard and secure but well sized galley. Fuel tanks are centerline under the floor starting just forward of the companion way. Spacious and old-world charm.

Main Salon:

Rich green cushions and the warm glow of teak abound in a well thought out salon. The dinette to port is comfy and smartly laid out with additional seating to starboard. Lots of light and ventilation with a butterfly hatch mid ship and lots of storage under seating. Sturdy teak and holly floors throughout are spectacular.

Galley:

The galley sports a double sink as well as lots of refrigeration and freezer space. Everything is within reach including to pass items to the dinette. Good amounts of storage given the age and design of the boat compared to most and sensible cabinets to keep items secure off shore.

Master Stateroom:

Master is forward and to port with lots of storage and shelving. More room than you might think for a “Pullman” style set up but, quite sensible. Lots of teak to continue the warm and rich feel of the boat. Anchor locker is at the forward end of the bed.

Guest Stateroom:

To starboard is a double seagoing quarter-birth with a hanging locker. Perfect for off watch or rough seas sleeping.

Deck:

Cadenza’s easy to navigate decks with lots of flat surfaces for safe movement going forward. Classic bow sprit with platform really sets the lines and feel of this classic yacht. At the mast there are safety rails around the mast. Windlass is at the foot of the bow sprit.

Electronics and Helm:

Classic stainless and teak wheel with basic navigation equipment at your fingertips. You will feel safe in the wrap around cockpit but low enough to really feel the breeze and speed of the boat. A double ended design is arguably one of the best parts of a blue water cruiser.

Electrical:

Electrical panel is at the starboard nav desk. Newer Raymarine electronics including a chart plotter have been installed. 2 new fuel gauges to match the 2 new fuel tanks recently installed and a panel that is easy to read and operate. Battery bank size is ample and easy to access. Strong back bars have been placed above the batteries for security and quick access for inspection.

Engine Details and Mechanical Equipment:

Hardly used Beta 50 engine runs great and parts are easy to come by for service. Beta uses a Kubota block so any tractor supply house will have what you need if you're in a remote location. Compressors are at the bottom of the port cockpit lazarette along with lots of storage.

A classic yacht that sails great. Cadenza is not a new plastic toy but a real cruising blue water yacht for those who can appreciate her characteristics. Limited numbers make her a great value at her price and amenities. Ready for some upgrades if that's your style but she has everything you need to sail off asap.
