Design Ethos

It is our entry into the premium world of sailing yachts between 55 and 75 feet long. It is also the biggest yacht BAVARIA has ever built. That’s why we were so meticulous when planning, designing and building it. Every single step in its development was questioned, discarded and thought through again. Why? Because perfection takes time. The result is much more than just a new yacht. It’s a masterpiece of our engineers’ art, the sum of all our experience in building boats.

Design, construction, quality, workmanship, building method and materials – all these are consistent with the BAVARIA YACHTS DNA. Despite its size, this yacht is elegant and sails extraordinarily well. It isn’t just fast, it’s safe at all times and in every wind and weather. It is also extremely easy to handle under sail. Even small crews can sail the BAVARIA C65 on long voyages; you can even sail it single-handedly if you need to.

Discover more below deck. An elegant, modern design wherever you look and in every detail. There is an unbelievable amount of comfortable space which you can arrange for yourself using numerous layout options. We’ve worked together with the best suppliers in the industry, because in the end, more experience means more comfort.

Exterior: Focusing On The Essentials – Perfect Design.

Unfussy design is what this new yacht is all about, above and below deck. The BAVARIA C65 boasts clear, reduced lines. Fine, smooth side-contours. Elegance was everything when we developed this yacht; we wanted to give bluewater cruising a new look, with a design that would look great anywhere in the world, in every far-flung harbour and every bay.

The design features a clear, smooth deck and sporty rig. Big hull windows blend appealingly into the lines of the hull, making the yacht look even longer. This is accentuated further by a flat superstructure and a narrow strip of windows running from the mast to the cockpit.

At the back, an XXL bathing platform opens up to reveal the dinghy garage which offers enough space for a Jet Tender and other equipment for enjoying the water. The bathing platform itself is the ideal place from which to swim or sunbathe, or to prepare for an unforgettable dive.

The deck emphasizes the BAVARIA C65’s clear design. The foreship is uncluttered and has nothing built onto it to break its lines. The hatches are embedded in the deck, reflecting our standards of design and boatbuilding. The long, flat superstructure begins behind the mast and blends smoothly into the cockpit. A strip of hatches down the middle makes everything look slim and elegant, with inconspicuous yet large windows that contribute to the ideal lighting and ventilation concept below deck.

Discover more clarity – including in the cockpit. It’s divided into sailing and relaxation areas. Two steering pedestals provide you with a perfect view of the sails, your course and all the instruments. All of the halyards, sheets and trim equipment for the sails leads below deck to the steering pedestals, within direct reach of the helmsman.

Two electric winches on the port and starboard sides trim the sails at the press of a button, and thanks to that concept, handling is wonderfully easy and safe for the helmsman to do alone.

There is a lounge area in front of the steering pedestals. It features two cockpit tables where you can enjoy lunch and dinner; these can be lowered and transformed into two large sunbathing areas. Alternatively, you can choose the two sunbathing areas on either side of the broad ladderway if you want to enjoy the sunshine.

More pleasure: that’s what the aft section is all about. A barbeque and wet bar are integrated into the broad bench behind the steering pedestals. This represents the culinary centre of the cockpit, whether at port or at anchor.

Performance: Sailing As It Should Be.

A 65 foot yacht doesn’t necessarily have to be difficult to sail. On the contrary: we’ve engineered simplicity in, so that you can enjoy the freedom of the seas. What do we mean by that? We mean less work. Steering the BAVARIA C65 doesn’t even need two hands – it needs two fingers. The reason for this is the double rudder system which allows an ideal flow of water onto the two rudder blades, even when heeling.

An optimized sail plan guarantees the perfect balance between mainsails and foresails – which is ideal for long voyages. In practice this means you’ll be amazed at how balanced it is to sail when you stand at the helm of the BAVARIA C65.

This yacht is the perfect balance between elegant design, spacious accommodation and fast sailing. A perfectly formed hull with a steep stern, a long waterline of almost 18 metres and a draught of 3.5 metres all ensure steady handling at sea. A 6.5 tonne keel provides the requisite uprighting; it is engaged with the forces of the rig and hull in conjunction with a stainless steel frame and an extremely strong floor assembly. The hull, in turn, is built using BAVARIA’s VacuTec system and reinforced with additional carbon. This has the side-effect of reducing weight while maximising rigidity.

More means more options: a 118 sqm mainsail, 77 sqm self-tacking jib and 95 sqm genoa are all available. Perfect performance is guaranteed thanks to a sail area of 213 sqm to the wind. On high sees you can choose between a Code Zero (185 sqm) and a gennaker (185 sqm). When we designed this, we kept in mind that the yacht had to be extremely easy to handle under any wind conditions. The self-tacking jib and genoa are stored on a furler below deck. The furler systems run so smoothly that they can be handled in any wind with ease. That too is what we mean by more – that you have to do less.

Features: Discover More Intelligent Details All Over The Yacht.

Sailing enthusiasts will love not only the BAVARIA C65’s elegant, clear design, but the way it sails too – its performance and ease of handling, which are highly unusual in a boat of this size. But there is even more to discover: all of the many innovative features on board.

1. WET BAR AND BBQ GRILL

Grill and chill in the cockpit area. It’s practically always possible, and always extremely practical, thanks to a lowering barbecue and fold-out wet bar including fridge.

2. COCKPIT TABLES

The cockpit area can do anything. It’s great for eating and great for relaxing. Use the two big cockpit tables to enjoy a perfect lunch or exquisite dinner. Then, when it comes time to relax, lower the tables in a trice to reveal the lounge area.

3. SUNBATHING AREAS

If you feel like a change of sunning-spot in the cockpit area, you can use the two spacious sunbathing areas either side of the broad ladderway. Again, it’s more – more of everything.

4. FLUSH HATCHES

All of the hatches in the deck are recessed into the superstructure. This isn’t the case on all boats; it’s part of our quality and design aspiration.

5. SELF-TACKING JIB

A useful self-tacking jib makes cruising into the wind a pure pleasure. Simply set the rudder, turn, and sail on.

6. TWIN STEERING WHEEL

Standing at either of the two helmstands, the helmsman has everything in view – absolutely everything. Intuitive touch displays at the steering pedestals can be used to control and monitor all of the systems on board: navigation, course, speed, radar, tank levels, battery charge levels, electrical function, all of the lighting and much more besides.

7. CENTRAL TRIMMING SYSTEM

It could hardly be easier: halyards, sheets and all of the trim equipment for the sails can be operated directly by the helmsman at the press of an electric button, using the 2x2 winches.

8. TEAK DECK

Looks classier, feels better, lasts for ages and complies with our understanding of perfect boatbuilding: high-quality teak has been used to build the deck around the cockpit and all around the boat. Yet again this means more – more quality.

9. UNDERDECK FURLING

The self-tacking jib and genoa wind onto a furler below deck. To us, this isn’t simply a matter of design, it guarantees the simplest possible handling and produces the perfect transition between the foresail and the deck.

10. XXL BATHING PLATFORM

A big bathing platform at the stern reveals the dinghy garage and offers a beautiful spot for bathing, the ideal place for preparing to dive or simply a place to enjoy the sun. The dinghy garage provides enough space for a Jet Tender and other equipment needed to enjoy everything the water has to offer.
