I Don’t Know 2 is a nice example of the very popular Rinker 342 Express Cruiser. Rinker is known for building quality boats and the 342 EC continued the company’s tradition of offering an affordable boat with a spacious interior and an impressive array of standard equipment. In addition, this Rinker 342 is powered by twin 320 hp Volvo Penta 5.7 with DuoProps which gives her a runabout-like top speed.
The cockpit layout is well-designed with seating for six to eight persons. A full enclosure provides shelter from the elements for both Captain and guests. The helm seat is wide and comfortably upholstered. The steering, throttles and instruments are well-placed and the new Isinglass offers the Captain a clear line of sight. The area behind the helm includes a full wet bar with sink and refrigerator. The extended swim platform is a nice added feature.
The interior design offers a great layout as well and includes a remarkable amount of headroom and overall living space for a mid-sized cruiser. A very large berth is aft under the cockpit and a queen berth is tucked all the way forward with a curtain for privacy. In a pinch, the dining table can be lowered to create an additional berth for guests. The galley is small but well-equipped with a refrigerator, microwave, two burner electric stove, sink with pressure water and ample storage. The head with a separate shower is conveniently located just to port of the companionway, allowing it to serve both interior and exterior living areas.
If you're in search of a sporty and versatile pocket cruiser that you won't have to spend a king's ransom to outfit, this Rinker 342 is your boat. You will be hard-pressed to find a better value.

When it comes to standard features on the 342 EC, Rinker didn't compromise on outfitting the interior. The 12-foot beam allows for a spacious and open interior with a few twists on more traditional arrangements. For starters, there's a galley along the port side of the main salon that includes, as standard equipment, a two-burner electric countertop stove as well as a built-in microwave oven and coffeemaker.
There's a solid wood table in front of the U-shaped settee, on the opposite side of the cabin. The settee base has a variety of drawers and storage compartments. The tabletop drops to create an additional sleeping berth, when needed.
The forward cabin has a privacy curtain to separate it from the main area. There's a large V-berth with storage under the mattress and drawers below, as well as a hanging locker to one side. The aft cabin is also separated with a privacy curtain. It also features a spacious double berth.
The 342's head compartment has just over 6 feet of headroom throughout. It includes a separate shower stall not commonly found on boats in this size range. The 6-gallon hot water heater has a heat exchanger connection with one of the engines, for maximum efficiency. There's a level gauge for both the freshwater and wastewater tanks.
The well-equipped galley to port includes a 3-cubic-foot refrigerator, a two-burner electric stove and a stainless steel sink in a Corian countertop, plus a coffeemaker and a microwave oven. You'll find attractive cherry wood cabinetry with lots of drawers and nooks for storage.
Everything is within easy sight and reach, at the helm of the Rinker 342. And by everything, we mean just that — VHF, electronics, engine synchronization, a remote spotlight and the toggle switch for both the port and starboard windshield wipers.
The arrangement of the deck and cockpit provide a good combination of small and large boat features such as a walk-through windshield commonly found on smaller models and a cockpit wet bar usually found on larger boats.
There is an anchor locker on the foredeck with electric anchor windless and three deck hatches in the cabin top. The welded stainless steel rail around the forward and side decks is 1 1/8' diameter rather than the 1' typical found on boats in this class.
In the cockpit, there is a doublewide, adjustable helm seat to starboard and settee to port and a bench seat at the transom. Both bench seats have under-cushion storage compartments.
The cockpit can be protected from the weather with the full camper canvas enclosure. The electronics arch breaks the canvas top in two sections — so, you can just shade the forward area, if you'd like.
There's an entertainment center directly behind the helm seat that includes even more standard equipment. There's an ice-maker and a 2-cubic-foot refrigerator, along with a sink that has pressurized cold water. To top it off, there's even a blender. A music system with amplifier and six speakers rounds out this party ready cockpit!
This Rinker 342 also has a dinghy lift and a transom compartment that can store an outboard motor.
