About this ST. FRANCIS 50
St Francis 50' Emperor - Spirit of Inyati
Spirit of Inyati - a one of a kind St Francis 50' catamaran. This special true blue water luxury cat built specifically as an "Emperor" specification for the discerning owner who is a commercial pilot, a perfectionist and who demanded nothing but the best. Unfortunately due to a knee replacement operation in February 2017, he felt he should no longer sail his beautiful "Spirit of Inyati" which he has maintained in an immaculate condition.
Launched in 2006 - Spirit of Inyati departed Cape Town South Africa via St Helena and the Cape Verde Islands to the Canaries. From here she sailed the ARC to St Lucia in the Caribbean, then south to Trinidad and Tobago, back up north through the Caribbean to New York, across to Lisbon via Bermuda and the Azores. Entered the Mediterranean where she overwintered in Minorca in 2007. From here she sailed the Spanish and French coast lines, Corsica and Sardinia, through the Straits of Messina en-route to Greece. From Corfu there have been many trips to Croatia and Turkey and the surrounding Ionian and Agean Isles, which he maintains is the best sailing seas in the world.
This 4-cabin owner’s version is only privately used and is immensely well equipped. Certainly not a charter boat. Most instruments are duplicated and thoughtfully laid out - you might imagine that you are in the cockpit of an aircraft when at the navigation desk or at the helm.
Spirit of Inyati is owned in a BVI Company and is British flagged. Currently in the Marina Gouvia in Corfu, Greece. The owner resides in South Africa. To remain in Europe she had to be CE certified, this was done post construction in Greece, by the relevant Dutch CE authorities from Holland.
Spirit of Inyati hosts a comfortable saloon, well thought out navigation desk and bar/entertainment cabinets on the bridge deck. The master suite, to starboard, consisting of a study, numerous lockers, dressing room, large bathroom and king size bed. The starboard aft has the second cabin with a queen size bed, shower, heads and basin. The port hull consists of the 3rd cabin to aft, incorporating a queen size bed, shower and basin. Mid-ships include the extremely well appointed galley with only the best Miele appliances (even a Miele deep fat fryer). The fourth cabin is in the port forward and incorporates another king size ben and full bathroom.
Two original oil paintings, by well known South African artist Branko Dimitrov, have been built into the high gloss cherry wood cabinetry.
Quality, luxury, backup and safety were the forethought of the owner whilst building this superb yacht.
A few items to mention that makes this St Francis Emperor different to many other 50 foot catamarans are:
- 2 x 125HP Yanmar 4JH3 motors fitted with shaft drives and 4 bladed Varifold props - counter rotating
- Maxwell Bow thruster - port side
- Full house Furuno Navionics, forward looking sonar, echo pilot, etc.
