DESCRIPTION

Built in Leith, Scotland in 1944.

Allocated in 1944 to the Admiralty Commander in Chief Mediterranean for duties in Algiers, South of France, and Malta; then returning to Plymouth in 1948 for a general refit.

Re-engined in 1955 whilst in service in the Port Auxiliary Service. In 1967, professionally converted to a motor yacht configuration by the Malahide Shipyard near Dublin.
Makalu has been meticulously maintained by her Owners present and past.
