Boat Overview
This Marc Lombard 46 'Pata Negra' was designed in 2016 to race under IRC. With her powerful fast hull, she excels both inshore and offshore, achieving notable results including:
- Winning the overall prize in the 2018 Sevenstar Round Britain and Ireland Race
- Winning the Antigua - Bermuda race in IRC overall
Design and Performance
Designed by Marc Lombard, known for yachts such as Beneteau Figaro's, IMOCA 60's, and Class 40's, Pata Negra benefits from the expertise of one of the world's most renowned naval architects and yacht designers.
She is remarkably well set up and race-ready with:
- A full suit of racing sails including asymmetric spinnakers
- Carbon bowsprit
- Twin wheels
Her hull shape and twin rudders provide remarkable stability both up and downwind.
Handling and Performance
Although a high-performance IRC racing boat, 'Pata Negra' is predictable and easy to handle. This was demonstrated when she came third in IRC 1 in the RORC Caribbean 600 in 2019, with six crew members who had never been offshore before and were more accustomed to sailing small keelboats on lakes!

Interior and Comfort
Pata Negra features a roomy interior with light painted surfaces and oak veneered furniture. The deck is optimized for racing with a spacious cockpit, as well as a portable table and cushions for enjoying sunsets with family and friends.
Construction
Pata Negra is constructed from e-glass, airex foam in different densities, and Duratek epoxy resin. The hull, deck, and structure are made in female toolings with vacuum-assisted infusion. Her carbon rudder spars, blades, and bowsprit are all prepreg carbon fiber.
