Project Aquanaut is a 60 feet Open-Style sport catamaran designed by Officina Armare in collaboration with U-Boat Worx. Aquanaut is an advanced multihull luxury speeder, combining a sporty yet elegant appearance and modern solutions. It features a large deck space, open bar, and Al Fresco dining areas located on the aft deck and foredeck. The catamaran is equipped with dynamic inboard propulsion of 2x800 hp to offer an impressive speed potential of up to 40 kts and extreme stability at high speeds, thanks to its Deep-V hydrodynamic design.
The concept of the Aquanaut is heavily influenced by SUVs (Sport Utility Vehicles) in terms of stability, versatility, and a sense of exploration or adventure. It has ample storage for toys such as surfboards, Seabobs, and diving gear, in addition to the Nemo submersible. The large deck space can be further expanded at anchor with bulwarks, providing a larger area to host parties or simply enjoy life at sea. Aquanaut can explore the deep seas worldwide, thanks to advanced technologies that support efficient submarine operations and its lightweight luxury private Nemo Submarine by U-Boat Worx (600,000 €). The Nemo can dive to a depth of 330 feet and reach a top speed of three knots underwater, operating for up to eight hours before returning to base. The large platform on the back for the submarine is equipped with hydraulics that can lower the underwater craft when launching is required. This space can also serve as a lounging/entertaining area when the submarine is in the water and can be lowered to water level to become a beach club. The platform can go 0.75 m below water level to launch the U-Boat Worx Nemo submersible.
The efficiency of this catamaran reduces the number of crew members to zero and accommodates up to 12 guests. Family and friends can relax in comfort by sinking into the generous seating and sunbeds, enjoying the professional open bar and al fresco dining after a long day of deep-sea exploration, thanks to the large galley units. The foredeck features a large Jacuzzi with a seamless sunbathing area and a second, more intimate dining area for up to 4 guests. Aquanaut is powered by double 800hp Volvo engines with Volvo IPS drives, delivering excessive power to achieve an impressive speed of up to 45 knots.
Aquanaut will be built on order by the Turkish shipyard Licia Yachts, which specializes in building luxury motoryachts and catamarans with over 30 years of experience. The technical capacity of Licia Yachts provides one of the best infrastructures for new build projects like Aquanaut in the Eastern Mediterranean. The mold from Licia Yachts will produce a high-quality displacement hull. The yard has extensive experience in building and refitting catamarans, giving new owners added value and a stress-free building process. Engineering is handled by Notilus Design and Engineering, which has previously worked on various catamarans from 19-40 meters. The new owner of Aquanaut can be assured that the technical aspects of the boat will meet the highest standards.
