DESCRIPTION

This is a Beautiful One Owner Yacht, which has not been redesigned by multiple owners. There were only 5 of this model built, and this is #4. Hatteras did build a earlier version of a 60 Motor yacht until 1989 but it was vastly different. The 60 ED has 4 staterooms instead of 3. It is also galley up with the Galley and Salon on the main deck level. The pilothouse is separated from the Galley/Salon. There is more interior room in the Salon and Galley on the 60ED. The Salon is also wider because the width of the walk around side decks was reduced, however they are very workable. It has the desired Detroit 1271 engines instead of Detroit 892's. It will easily do 18 knots and max out at 22 knots. It also has a full beam walk-in engine room unlike the older 60's. The 60 ED feels like a much larger boat.

Salon

The Main Salon is an open plan and one with the galley. The Salon and Galley on this model have much more interior space in comparison to the standard 60 Motor yacht. While still having walkaround decks, the size of those walkarounds was reduced and interior space was also stretched aft. This provides a spacious Salon and Galley up arrangement. It has large windows to port and starboard, and a large window on the aft door as well. The side windows do open and have screens. To port in the salon is an L shaped Couch with a glass cocktail table. To starboard are two barrel chairs. A 42-inch tv is mounted under the galley counter facing the salon. There is a glass storage area and icemaker to the left of the TV. The lighting is overhead recessed. A clear Lexan wall with wood banister surrounds the stairway opening which leads down to the master stateroom and engine room access. There are New wood slat blinds in the Salon and Galley.

Galley

The Galley is up with an island kitchen. It is just off, and open to the salon. This makes a nice serving area where the host is present and engaged with the party. It has an extremely large counter area for preparation and serving. There is a large sink with a new faucet. Also, lots of storage below the counters and additional storage in the Islands overhead cabinets. All the cabinet drawers and doors have been replaced in walnut to match the newly stained salon wood. The flooring in the galley is a new synthetic wood. It has a black appliance package with Newer Samsung refrigerator, Microwave and Oven, New Amana dishwasher, and four burner Magic Chef cooktop. To the starboard of the open galley is a U-shaped dinette area which will accommodate 4 people. It has a white Corian sliding table.

Pilothouse

The Pilothouse on this Yacht is very usable for running the boat offshore or in tight quarters. It has three large windows forward, and good visibility with its side windows. Both wing doors open and enhance your peripheral vision in tight quarters. The aft Salon door and large window can be viewed via the pilothouse as well to aide in backing into a slip. There is a large bench seat rear in the pilothouse, it has storage drawers beneath. A ladder to starboard leads up to the flybridge. The wood is stained Walnut, and it has a synthetic flooring material. The chart plotter is a Garmin 7215, with Garmin XHD radar. It has a Garmin Smart pump Auto Pilot which works great, Icom M125 VHF radio, Ritchie 6’’ compass, Naiad Stabilizer control, fuel priming switches, systems monitor, bilge pump controls, hydraulic steering and engine controls, and full engine gauges.

Master Stateroom

A wide stairway leads down from the main salon to the split plan Master stateroom. This stateroom is full beam width and features a King-sized bed. It is finished with walnut stained wood and light wallpaper to accent. Bedspreads are new custom-made. There is an L shaped seating area to the starboard side aft. To port is a console with six drawers and there are also two drawers to starboard. Four large drawers slide out from under the bed. It has a large walk-in closet with two hanging bars. The master has an ensuite head which has been completely remodeled. The fiberglass bath tub has been removed and a large shower with glass doors has been installed. All flooring and wallpaper have been replaced as well as all the plumbing fixtures. A Raritan Atlantes, freshwater flush head was also installed.

Guest VIP Stateroom

The stairway from the pilothouse leads down to the forward stateroom areas. Going aft from there leads you to the aft Guest VIP room. This room has a Queen bed Athwartship with 3 side access that makes linen service a breeze. The bed has new custom-made bedspreads. There is a nightstand with drawers on both sides of the bed as well as two large portholes. These portholes let in a lot of natural light and serve as escape hatches. On the aft wall of the stateroom is a dresser with 4 drawers and a large mirror. There are also 4 drawers under the queen bed and a large hanging closet. The room has been refinished with a Walnut stain and tan wallpaper. This stateroom also features a large ensuite head. It has new sandstone flooring, new wallpaper, new faucets, a large walk-in shower, and a galley maid head with freshwater flush. The vanity has storage below and mirrored walls around it. A pocket door separates this room from a linen closet and the laundry center in the hall.

Mid Guest Stateroom

The Mid Guest stateroom has two Single beds athwartship. There is a hanging locker separating the beds. Each bed has 4 drawers beneath. The bedspreads and decor are new. The back of the entry door is mirrored and there is a window which lets in natural lighting. Each bed has a reading light above and recessed overhead lights in the headliner. The room has its own digital control for its dedicated air conditioning. The head for this stateroom is immediately across the entry hall.

Forward Guest Stateroom

The forward stateroom features a Queen Island bed with access to 3 sides for easy linen service. It has a new décor and Bed Spread. This stateroom has its own ensuite access door to the forward head and shower. To port is a hanging locker and mirror. There are two drawers under the bed and one to each side of the stateroom. The forward bulkhead is mirrored and hides the two doors which lead to the anchor closet. There is a large hatch with a screen overhead which serves as an escape hatch and lets in natural lighting. This stateroom has its own dedicated air conditioner and control. The port and starboard walls are padded off white material with Walnut wood finished trim. The forward head services the v berth and mid guest stateroom, one door leads directly to the v berth and another door leads to the hall across from the mid guest stateroom. This head also acts as a day head. It has new Sandstone tile flooring and wallpaper. It has a Galley Maid head with freshwater flush, and New Faucets and fixtures. There is a full walk-in shower.

Engine Room

The engine room on the 60ED is a huge improvement over the standard 60 motor yachts engine room. It is a full beam walk in engine room with tremendous access. The engines can be serviced from all four sides, all the ships’ mechanical equipment can be worked on with ease. There are stainless guard rails between the engines to help you navigate the engine room safely. Unlike the standard 60 motor yachts, this one has 900 horsepower Detroit Diesel 1271 engines. They provide more than enough power for fast cruising and give a good bight while docking. They have the chrome package as well. The engine room also houses the 30-gallon water heater, Dual Dahl fuel filters for main engines, Naiad stabilizer system, and 240 volt fresh water pump. The batteries and battery chargers are also in this space. There is a Sentry 24-volt 60 amp charger and a new Pronautic 12 volt 40 amp charger. The main engines each have Hi Lift fuel pumps for priming and supply of fuel to the engines. There is also a Groco high speed engine oil change pump and Glendenning engine synchronizer. The exhaust hoses from the underwater fiberglass tubes to the mufflers were recently replaced. Total hours on the engines in 2006. The starboard engine had a complete overhaul at 1978 hours. The generator room is forward in the yacht under the hallway to the front staterooms. The Onan 20kw generator has approximately 2400 hours on it. The generator room also houses the yacht’s air conditioning systems, isolation transformers, waste transfer pump, and air compressor. It also has a lot of storage.

Flybridge

A ladder from the pilothouse leads up the flybridge. It has a fore and aft bimini top and the more visually aesthetic hard poly panel enclosure. The radar arch is hinged so this boat can do the loop and Western rivers. There are two helm chairs and a large U-shaped seating area in the aft of the flybridge. There is storage below the seating and a huge storage area under the helm console. Chart plotter/Radar is a Garmin 7612. There is a Garmin Smart pilot, Garmin VHF, Ritchie 6’’ compass, and Naiad Stabilizer controls. The radar arch has a double mast on top of it with the radar and Intellian I4 Sat Tv antenna

Main Decks

There are varnished handrails from the pilothouse doors aft. Going forward the handrails are heavy stainless. This gives you the nice look of a varnished rail with the protection of the overhang and a sturdy rail forward. Four Marquipt heavy duty fender holders are mounted on the forward bow rails. There is a teak inlaid pulpit with a Galley Maid windlass and Danforth anchor. There are foot switches on the deck for the windlass. The Marquipt 8 step tide ladder is the 24-inch-wide version which is much more desirable.

Updates

The entire bottom of the boat was Peeled. All unnecessary thru hull fittings and attachments were removed and glassed over. A new epoxy and barrier coat were applied. The bottom was painted, and New Stabilizer seals were installed. The large hoses connecting the exhaust to the mufflers were replaced on both engines. The starboard engine was completely overhauled in 2020 to correct some blow by, the port engine checked out good. The hull was painted green approximately 2016. All the running lights were just replaced as well as the windshield, and pulpit covers. All varnish is fresh and the boat’s painted surfaces are waxed and shiny. The electronics battery charger is also Brand New. The Aft Guest VIP head pump was just replaced.
