ABOUT DUFOUR
Dufour is one of the major worldwide sailboat manufacturers. In 1964, Michel Dufour decided to set up his own shipyard. He was an engineer and a sailing enthusiast from La Rochelle, France.
Michel Dufour firmly believed that sailing would reach new levels due to the advancement of new technologies and innovations, embodying a pioneering and venturesome spirit. Taking sailing pleasure to new heights was his resolution. Dufour Yachts are amongst the biggest shipyards in the world with a manufacturing capacity of more than 18.000 m².
Dufour Yachts aim is to create a realistic brand image and subsequently, raise the sails a little higher with its Prestige yachts that were unique and had luxurious and contemporary interiors. Dufour Yachts then revised its image and created an entirely new Dufour Classic range that was designed to make cruising as enjoyable as possible. In association with the famous naval architect, Umberto Felci, the Performance range was created in 2002 and Grand Large range in 2003. The Dufour Performance yachts were perfect for racing and the Dufour Grand Large yachts were for cruising. Both these ranges fulfilled a different need to greatly please all sailing enthusiasts.
Dufour Yachts' sailboats designs are characterized by strong aft sections, well-balanced hull shapes, less dampened surface areas and many add-ons for cruising. Dufour yachts are set apart from other brands because of its unique design and it swiftly attracts all sailing enthusiasts.
