Millers of St Monans were a prolific yard, known for building sturdy fishing vessels for the North Sea, but they also produced a large number of yachts. The Miller Fifer became famous for their strength and capability at sea, a fishing boat hull but with a more refined finish and nice interior of varnished mahogany. They came in a range of sizes between 26' and 45' but the 33' version such as this boat was the most common and popular size as it offered spacious accommodation while still being easy to handle by 2 people. The history of this boat is well documented and she has been sold by Wooden Ships on a number of occasions. Currently she is in need of cosmetic attention externally but a recent survey reports her to be generally sound. Machinery and systems are all in good working order and she is capable of being sailed away. With 7 berths including a double, large wheelhouse and deep sheltered aft cockpit she is a fine cruising vessel for our waters with our unpredictable climate. Her large engine gives 7 knots of economical cruising speed and with an easily managed rig there is enough sail to aid the engine and get you home if necessary. 2017 survey report available.
