Annelory is a wooden gunter rigged ketch/Motor Sailor built by Messrs Hook Brothers of Teignmouth and first registered in 1949. The Hook family are still running her sister ship commercially in Teignmouth as a pleasure boat.

Annelory is a long keel, 9.17m long, 2.77m in the beam, 1.6m depth, and 7 tonnes gross/5 tonnes in weight on the register. She was designed by J. Francis Jones and commissioned to be built of teak on oak by Dr D.R.W. Burbury with a stack of old paperwork to trace her history. She has recently benefitted from a two-year refit and is back in the water in Gosport. The professional work done includes:
- Re-rigged both standing and running 2022 + stanchions and safety line with two gates aft (This has been done sympathetically and in keeping with the age of the boat at great expense)
- Hull stripped, undercoated, and painted, including antifoul and new anodes, before being dropped back into the water in 2022
- Interior has been sympathetically re-modeled, including a new galley area with running water and gas oven and a separate double berth cabin forward in 2022
- Electrics to interior lighting and exterior lighting were re-wired professionally in 2022
- Re-covered soft furnishings
- Fitted new electric flushing heads in 2022
- Two new automatic bilge pumps fitted in 2022
- New water system and large 80 litre flexible tank fitted 2022
- NASA Clipper Duet depth and speed unit fitted 2022
- NASA Clipper Wind Speed and Direction Unit fitted 2022
- ORCA GPS navigation with telephone holder fitted 2022 (Displays on a mobile phone or iPad etc
- Powered with a BMC Commodore 2.2 diesel engine in good running order, having had new glow plugs, alternator fitted, and starter motor recently re-furbished and a recent service.
- Canvas covers for the full length of the vessel, rear cockpit cover, and sail covers are new and tailor-made
- Sails have been inspected and repaired as required by a professional sailmaker in Portchester in 2022
Annelory is a seaworthy and very pretty little yacht. She is powerful under motor alone, yet has enough sail area to give her a decent turn of speed under sail. Her simple rig is easily managed by one or two people. Her new interior is beautiful and functional. Her pilothouse is large for a yacht of this size, extending your sailing season, while her extensive deck space and cockpit allows room for you and up to 6 friends to lounge around in summer. Tens of thousands have been spent on this pocket cruiser over the last three years, and only a small amount of work remains to keep her in commission. This work includes a lift out and clean, and a new stern gland as the existing one is leaking. This work is scheduled to be completed this summer at a professional boatyard.
