Peapod, is a 1972 Pearson 35 that was recently showcased on YouTube’s “Captain Q, Yacht Hunter” episode 84. She is a Bill Shaw designed centerboard sloop drawing less than 4’ with the center board up and nearly 8’ with it is down. She is in sail away condition and has sailed extensively this past summer. Most of her systems and components have been updated during the past 10 years. Her electronics are by Raymarine and include e7 chart plotter at the pedestal with 2 new i70 displays on the cabin top bulkhead. AIS and HD radar are fully integrated with the chart plotter as is the wheel pilot. Standing rigging and shroud chainplates were replaced 2 years ago with a new main and jib halyards. Sails, both main and 135% genoa were new in 2018. The main is on a “Tides Marine” sail track making raising very easy as is lowering with the lazy jacks in place. A colorful Asymmetrical spinnaker was added in 2013 and is in like new condition. All thru hulls were replaced with marelon in 2019. The house battery bank and cabling were replaced in 2019 and consists of 4 Firefly carbon foam batteries totaling 464 Ah, in a custom battery box. All large cabling was replaced at that time, between the house bank alternator, inverter and starter and start battery with ACR relay to keep the 2 banks separated. Battery charging is accomplished either through shore power connection, a Balmar 120 amp externally regulated alternator (with belt upgraded to serpentine for the higher load) as needed, however while cruising Peapod is fairly self-sufficient withwatt SunPower solar panels located on the dodger. Each panel is connected to the house bank via its own Victron MPPT charge controller to minimize the affects of shading on the panels. Hot and cold pressure water is provided to the galley, head, and outdoor shower in the cockpit. The head was just recently upgraded to fresh water. A new oven/3 burner stove (propane) was added in 2020. Auxilliary power is provided by a Westerbeke 30B3 diesel, with very low hours. Steering cables and chain were replaced about 7 years ago. While at anchor good sleep is easy on a custom “Portland Mattress” in the V birth, with her “Rocna 15kg” anchor holding you securely in place. The rode is a combination of chain (120”) and 3 strand (80’), a “Mantus” bridle is included. The anchor is easily raised with the help from manual windlass. For getting to shore, the included dinghy is a “Portland Pudgy” and comes with a 3.5HP Tohatsu outboard and custom harness and straps for mounting on the davits. A full winter canvas cover in fair condition is also included in the sale.
