Lucas Yachting are privileged to be listing Manitou, being one of the three famous 40ft C&C yachts which won the Canada Cup in 1969. These three yachts were designed by Cuthbertson & Cassian and built in Canada by Erich Brukmann and all were highly successful on the International race circuits.

Now based in Exmouth, Manitou is well equipped with recent sails and sound rigging, two of the large winches are crosslinked, so can be operated from several selected positions, being an unusual feature nowadays.

This is a proud vessel, resplendent with a recent vinyl-wrap to topsides, powerful winches and a reliable engine - and still capable of winning races.

With evident gear and equipment efficiency and ability to maintain really fast passage speeds, this could be an ideal fast cruiser for the experienced skipper with a small crew. There is plenty of stowage space available and opportunity
for developing a customised layout, which could appeal to the long-distance sailor. Interestingly, we do have experience in yacht fit-out and interior work, so would be able to manage and expedite any interior lay-out change/improvements should this be required.

Manitou has done many Atlantic crossings and will comfortably cruise at 8 to 9 knots - she is well-balanced, easy to reef and rewarding to sail.
