Sessa C52 Review

Sessa C52 Review

The Sessa C52 is the flagship of the Italian company’s range and was shortlisted for the 2007 Motor Boat of the Year award in the category of sports cruisers above 45ft. It is a well-designed three-cabin boat with en-suite in the master cabin and one of the two guest cabins. The Sessa C52’s large saloon area has copious storage and a table, with a long galley opposite. The spacious main deck features two large sun bathing areas, together with a relaxing seating area around a table. The boat also has a 2.8-metre tender and swim platform with a locker for diving gear. A secondhand Sessa C52 represents an excellent investment in a luxury sports cruiser from a company with a long tradition of quality and performance.

Who and what was this boat designed for?

The Sessa C52 is designed for coastal or open water cruising, with plenty of stowage for longer trips. Twin Volvo diesels provide a good balance of power and fuel efficiency, while the well-designed modified-V hull offers smooth, fast performance in most cruising conditions, including the short steep chop of the coastal Mediterranean and longer ocean swells. The helm position is extremely practical, and a large windscreen provides drivers with a better peripheral view when driving the boat.

What commentators say about this boat?

This stunning C52 hard top cruiser is a pedigree from the Italian Sessa stable.

By concentrating on its primary function - cruising - it succeeds beautifully.

That, and the sports car style seats create the sensation of riding in an exotic convertible with the top down.

The focus aboard the C52 is the cockpit, and it excels.

The other impressive feat Sessa managed to pull off is to make a 52 foot boat with a garage not feel crowded or cramped.

Sessa produces the kind of boats that it’s difficult to find fault with because every last detail has been tried and tested over time.
