The design, along with all Elans, gives a true performace feel coupled with excellent stability. Elan E1’s beamy hull form also provides an exceptionally large cockpit and interior volume for a design of this size. The Elan E1 also features tiller steering, twin rudders and a transom mounted mainsheet traveller to further enhance the feeling of space in the cockpit and for ease of handling.

Construction

Elan have always been pioneers in innovation when it comes to boat design and construction. They were one of the first to implement Vacuum Assisted Infusion Lamination technology (VAIL) into production and are still one of the few that use it on all the boats in the range. With constant research and development their yachts come close to perfection in terms of design, construction and building methods to ensure maximum performance and joy for the most demanding sailors.

The Elan E1, being in their performance range, feature a wide stern for extra volume and planning capabilities, twin rudders for ultimate control, hard chines astern for ideal waterlines upwind, and a retractable gennaker pole for optimal asymmetric setting for fast downwind sailing.
