Beautifully Restored antique liveaboard powered with a Detroit diesel engine. This 1949 BILLINGS MARINE 42 is a one of a kind downcast boat. She is a wooden boat that hails from Maine where she purchased in 2017 by her current owner in Rockland ME and transported by water down to her current location where she resides on a mooring and used as a condo on the water from May to October. The boat was commissioned by the Navy after WWII and used as a patrol boat in the Maine waters. Upon purchase of the boat, the current owner had many upgrades put on the boat, including twowatt solar panels that provide 650 watts in total energy to provide power to run the bilge pumps, the refrigerator and the house lights on the boat. The solar panels store the energy to fouramp hour golf cart batteries. The boat sat on the hard for five (5) years when the current owner purchased her. The current owner estimates that he put 100 hours on the engines since his purchase. Although the current owner didn't take the boat out much during his ownership, he did make it a point to run the engines periodically to keep it fresh. The current owner kept the boat in the water year round and would have her hauled out in July every season to have the bottom checked and painted and put back in 24 hours. This boat has served the current owners very well providing a very comfortable and spacious place to live on and if it weren't for the current health challenges, they would continue to enjoy living on her during their summer season.
