Oyster 26
1979 Fin keel Yacht. Designed by Holman & Pye, beautifully designed and engineered yacht.
Brokerage vaulation of £13,000
Oyster 26
1979 Fin keel Yacht. Designed by Holman & Pye, beautifully designed and engineered yacht. The smallest of the Oyster Yachts this model has successfully crossed the Atlantic, and is a great single handing yacht, sleeps 5, and fast club racer. Chart table , Gally, and separate heads.
The yacht was owned by my father for the last 20 years, it cruised and raced at the Royal Forth Yacht club at Granton in North Edinburgh where it is currently moored. No expense was spared on the yacht with new self tailing winches, new clutches, single line reefing system, new spinnaker, rolling furler, rubberised teak effect decking fitted to the cockpit, a handmade centre instrument console was designed and fitted with new instruments to aid with evening races. Needs some small tidying jobs such as re varnish of some of the internal woodwork.
Inside the yacht is wood panelled and well appointed, for those not familiar with Oyster it has a world class reputation as the 'Rolls Royce' of yachts and inside is like a Gentleman's club and a really nice place to be.
As my father is 80 this year it is time for the yacht to be taken on by someone else. The Volvo Penta engine stopped and we have had it removed, it has a fault, it will need a rebuild or it is an opportune time for a new engine and future proof it.
We have had it valued from a local brokerage with a running engine at £13,000. We are selling with the engine removed, the old engine can be given if someone wants to rebuild, or go with a newer type engine. The same type Volvo Penta 5MD is advertised currently used but refurbished condition for £1300.
Prepared to accept £4900 as I do not have the time to re engine the yacht with current pressure of work.
