This 1960 VAN WAGONER has had only 3 owners, and all three have obviously taken great care in maintaining her. The current owner purchased the boat in 2005. In September of 2000, a previous owner contracted with the original manufacturer to perform extensive upgrades. The transom was removed, as was the original well. A new transom and well were custom built using marine-grade FIR. The entire wood hull and sides were replaced and re-glassed using 2 layers of hand-laid glass cloth. The new fiberglass is applied from the keel to the top sides including the bow and side decks. AWL-GRIP primer and paint was applied to all the surfaces. All new rub-rails were also installed. This VAN WAGONER is uniquely built and equipped for long weekends. The boat comfortably sleeps three. The cockpit has electrical outlets which are currently used to operate a TV and portable A/C*. The custom manufactured tent enclosure with screened windows sets up and removes easily. The front safety-glass windshields are hinged and have tilt adjustments. Side window are LEXAN and are installed on slides for easy opening and closing. They can also be removed if desired. The pilot house has a privacy curtain, and the porta-potty is nestled inside a dedicated locker for privacy. Electrical power is provided by way of a 75W Solar panel for the house battery, but the battery is also charged by the engine alternator. Electronics include a Stereo CD player, VHF radio, depth sounder, cabin fan, and GPS. Moving around the boat is easy and safe with 7" side decks and hand holds on the roof. There is also a rod rack on the pilot house roof and side decks. Included with the boat is a BRUCE anchor on a bow roller with chain and rope rode. Extra anchor with chain is stored on the bow. Other features included are 2 fenders, a single burner camp stove, portable 7 gallon fresh water tank, BENNETT trim tabs, and dual bilge pumps. The teakwood swim platform with fold down ladder is another very usable addition. A 1997 QUICKLOAD aluminum trailer is included. The axle springs, hubs and bearings were replaced about a year ago. Tires are serviceable according to the seller. The trailer also has a 2 speed manual winch and rear guide post to help with launching and retrieval. The seller regularly services the engine by replacing the oil and oil filter at least twice each year, and installs a new lower unit impeller at least every 2 years. The most recent oil change and lower unit impeller replacement was in late 2022. The 2006 SUZUKI 4 stroke is 115 hp, and is model #DF115. He reports that it runs very well, and now has a little over 400 hours use (estimated).
