The Fairey Huntsman 28 has to be one of the most iconic motorboat designs of the twentieth century and has become synonymous with performance and style. Designed as a motor cruiser she created a loyal following after successfully competing against purpose built racing boats in the golden age of events such as the Cowes – Torquay powerboat race. Alan Burnard took the successful Ray Hunt designed Huntress 23 hull and stretched it adding more freeboard and the instantly recognisable straight sheerline; creating a more elegant hull with subtle yet distinctive tumblehome in the aft quarters. The extra length and depth improved performance while adding additional volume to increase living space below decks.
The Fairey Huntress 28 SHIKARI benefits from having been extensively refitted between 2008 and 2010, taken back to a bare shell she had an extensive list of works completed. Surveyed in the spring of 2023 she is presented for sale with a comprehensive inventory including highlights such as:
Lying on her berth in Tarbert Harbour, Loch Fyne with Fairey Huntsman SHIKARI is available for immediate viewing. The owner has a winter storage space booked within a shed locally, the booking can transfer with the boat if required.
