Overview Accommodations
This vessel has a lovely interior throughout giving her warmth yet still very bright and spacious below. She has a full athwartships V-berth forward with 2 hatches above for excellent ventilation. Next to port is the head. Privacy is obtained by closing the doors to the salon and the v-berth. Many ingenious European features including her pull out sink in the head utilizing space to the max.
Her salon is roomy and warm with teak joinery throughout. There is plenty of shelving and locker space for extended cruising. There is a settee to starboard with a removable back making for a wide berth. To port is an L-shaped dinette that will convert to a double bunk. She has a fixed centerline table with drop leaves allowing dining for 4 or more in comfort. She has not only curtains but shades as well to help filter the harsh sun.
Aft to starboard is an excellent Navigation station (larger than many on 40 footers). Her Navigation seat folds outboard allowing access to the double quarter berth with lockers and opening port. The back end of the quarter berth one can gain access to a large storage area. Her L-shaped galley is aft to port. The centerline companionway leads to the cockpit with engine access under.

Here again, the European craftsmanship has lent itself to what may appear to be a small galley yet has an abundance of storage space, great for extended cruising.

Conclusion
The Dehler 34 Optima 101 is an excellent racer/cruiser. She is very fast but her hull design also makes her spacious and comfortable below. She is responsive and fun to sail. If you are looking for a great racer or just a nice fast cruiser, this is the boat for you.
