This X-442 was purchased in 2002 by the present owner and has sailed extensively around the UK and over to Scandinavia. This yacht is in a 'Sailaway' condition but is priced to reflect some cosmetic issues that a future owner may wish to address. These include the fading of the blue hull, the potential re-caulking of some areas of the teak decking and possible replacement of the original standing rigging.

Mechanical

Vessel powered by an inboard Yanmar 4JH3E, 51hp diesel engine. Reduction gearbox driving a stainless steel shaft and 3-bladed Gori folding propeller. Engine start panel mounted in cockpit in recess for protection. Engine has completed 2327 serviced hours.
The owner has changed the oil and filters every year just prior to annual lift out.
Engine situated beneath the companionway steps. These remove along with two further sections in the two aft cabins allowing all round access for servicing and daily checks.

Bank of 5x12V batteries providing to the engine, the winches and the onboard systems. These are recharged via the engine alternator or the onboard battery charger when on shore power.

Construction

GRP sandwich constructed yacht using varying densities of divynicell core material. Solid laminate around keel pan. Hot galvanised steel floor girder absorbing load from keel and mast. Blue topsides starting to show age. May require painting at some stage. Marine ply internal bulkheads bonded to hull and deck. Deep draft cast keel with lead bulb. Reinforced hand laminated spade rudder with tapered aluminium stock. Vessel has been ashore annually for antifoul and anode change. Sea cocks to heads compartments changed in 2022. Sandwich constructed deck finished in teak planking laid and bonded over the grp. Some areas require bonding down and require new caulking.

Deep self-bailing cockpit with teak laid sole and locker tops. Cockpit lockers fitted with gas struts for safety. Steering binnacle with large diameter stainless steel wheel covered in leather for comfort. Stainless steel stern rails with built in solid teak seats port and starboard. Access to bathing platform.

The yachts' wooden interior is built of teak with a hand-polished satin finish. All joinery is built in accordance with the best yacht practice, and the number of visible screws have been reduced to a minimum and carefully designed to show off the fine wooden interior. The innerlining has integrated dome halogen spotlights and blinds below the hatches. All windows and hatches are equipped with curtains. Handrails are fitted throughout.
