Remarks :

"Annette" is an excellent example of Scandinavian quality and workmanship. As with all builders from this part of the world, the hulls, fixtures and fittings were of a quality that was designed to last but more importantly to be used in a practical way whilst providing a level of quality and comfort. The Storebro Royal Cruiser 31 was born as the result of the popular 34.

She was the same beam giving super voluminous accomodation but over a meter shorter.

The Royal Cruiser 31 was offered in three different versions of the same hull. The "Adriatic" with was an open helm and cockpit more suited for the mediterranean, The "Baltic" with its hard top but open rear and this particular model the "Biscay" with its large companionable wheelhouse, sliding rear doors to cockpit and sliding roof hatch.

She is a lovely boat with clean, heated and comfortable accommodation. She is powered by twin 200hp Volvo TAMD diesels with shaft driven 5-bladed Aquapoise propellers. Electronic navigation aids include a widescreen colour Raymarine plotter, a Koden Radar, a Raytheon autopilot and a Icom DSC M401 VHF.

If you are looking for a quality, comfortable cruiser capable of dealing with northern seas, then look no further.

Accommodation :
Accommodation

The whole premise of this motor yacht is comfort, style whilst still being functional. The cockpit with its aft bench seat becomes an extension of the wheelhouse where you can sit and socialise when the doors are slid open. The wheelhouse has a comfortable seating area to port with upholstered backrest. The wheelhouse transforms into a two bunk cabin of an evening as the backrest swings upwards and becomes the top bunk. The wheelhouse is fully fitted with curtains for privacy and providing darkness conducive to getting a good sleep. Children and parents alike love the space and if you have guests sleeping in the saloon this offers a seperate room.

Two steps down and you are in the lower saloon. To port there is a u-shaped seating/dining area with storage behind and below. The table drops and using the two bulkhead backrests as infill cushions, this converts to a spacious and comfortable double. Just forward of the wheelhouse bulkhead is a hanging space cupboard whose top acts as an ideal TV stand. Opposite the saloon seating is the linear galley. There is a gas fuelled Flavel oven with two burner hob and grill. Stainless steel sink with pressurised hot and cold water. Plentiful storage areas for crockery, utensils and provisions. Perishables are kept in a 12V/gas fridge located beneath the forward saloon seat. The oven and the sink unit care cleverly hidden behind veneered joinery when not in use.

In the bow with its own access door is the forward cabin with comfortable V-Berth. This can be used either as two singles or with the addition of the infill cushion can become a double. There are hull mounted shelving units and additional storage beneath the bunks. Privacy curtains on all windows a small hanging space. The cabin is fitted with 12V lighting but more remarkable has its own Webasto Airtop heating unit with control panel.

Returning to the saloon and aft of the galley is the heads compartment with electric flush porcelain toilet, moulded sink unit, pull out shower head and mixer tap. The toilet is fitted with a holding tank with level monitor giving an accurate visual display regarding the contents. Shower sump pump. Bulkhead mirror and storage shelving and cupboards.

The whole boat is in excellent condition for hr age. She has an additional Eberspacher heating system servicing the saloon and wheelhouse. 12V lighting throughout. 3-Pin sockets for use when attached to shore power.

Engines & Electrics

"Annette" is powered by twin Volvo Penta TAMD 40, inboard diesels. These 6-cylinder, 200hp units have been well maintained and have had a recent service. The port engine hours are slightly higher as this is the engine that feeds the hot water calorifier. She burns in the region of 10 gph when cruising at 15 knots and 20 gph when flat out.

The engines are mid-mounted which increases the stability of the boat at displacement speeds. She is fitted with QL trim tabs which assist in getting her onto the plane allowing you to throttle back and minimise fuel inefficiency. Engine access is superb as the whole wheelhouse floor is removable panels. This allows all round access when servicing or carrying out periodic maintenance. Reduction gearboxes driving stainless steel shafts and 5-bladed bronze aquapoise propellers. The shafts are fitted with disc style rope cutters for added security. Twin engine morse controls at helm with key start and engine instrumentation. Vessel is also fitted with a max-Power bow thruster which increase maneuverability in tight spaces.

Bank of 3X130amp Numax Batteries installed new in 2019. These are housed beneath the saloon stairs which slides out to allow access when changing. They are fitted with a lever style isolator switches and are recharged via the engine alternator or the Sterling Smart charger when attached to shore power. RCD breaker and 240V panel below the helm. 12V switch panel adjacent to helm position. Tool kit on board situated beneath the aft saloon seat. - See photograph. This is just another example of how well thought out these boats are.
