The overall interior and engine compartment of this boat have been kept in a shockingly great condition for her age and with over $30,000 in recent upgrades, she is sure to impress her next owners. While being built in the famous Ta-Shing boat yard, this Norseman 400 combines a large and naturally lit interior that offers ample storage as well as having a wide beam and long waterline contributing to a smooth and comfortable ride. Main Description

Moonbeam is an extremely clean, well kept, & recently upgraded vessel whose true beauty can only be appreciated in person. An electrical overhaul in 2020 was interrupted by COVID resulting in the owner to change his plans and move on from the boat. This is a rare opportunity for the next owner to personally complete the upgrade and own this high quality blue water vessel. With brand new updated instruments at the helm and inside, this boat truly is ready to be splashed in the water and sailed off for its next adventure.

General Layout

As you enter the interior of the boat from the cockpit companionway, the first thing you notice is the custom interior layout which is unique to this vessel compared to the nominal production Norseman 400's. To enter, you go down a few stairs which leaves you looking forward towards the bow. Once inside you see the full galley off to port and the doorway to the head immediately to starboard. If you go port aft of the companion way you just entered in, there will be the main sleeping berth which offers a twin mattress and some storage but in a smaller room with limited and varying head space throughout. Turning back towards the bow and walking forward a bit you will notice the electronic instrument panel as well as the main breaker and a desk/storage space off to starboard. To forward & port you will be in the main living space of the cabin which has a large U-shaped settee with an adjustable table in the middle of it.Behind the settee are multiple storage options as well as under seat storage. To starboard of the settee is a bench style seat with padded cushions that can convert into a full sized sleeper as well. Behind this bench seat and below are more storage compartments. Overall, The main cabin and galley are naturally bright due to a number of windows, hatches, and portholes. Continuing towards the bow, you enter the V berth which offers 2 twin sleeping options to port and starboard as well as storage below each berth. Forward of the V berth is a nice sized hanging locker for more storage and inside of that compartment gives you access to the anchor locker.

Inside the vessel on the starboard wall is a temporary placement for all of the Garmin instruments. All instruments are said to be hooked up completely except for the transducer and the main power cord going to the battery. A temporary panel was added for aesthetics but this allows for the next owner to customize the setup or include any other instruments they see fit for the boat.

Head

With a newly rebuilt head, while smaller, this vessel offers a full head with enclosed shower and ample storage space. The stand up shower with bench seating and a protected storage compartment definitely utilizes all oft the space that it encompasses. The hot and cold shower and sink are side by side with one another but separated by a small wall to allow for the enclosed shower. Behind the sink is a sliding mirror that allows access to a storage compartment. There is also additional storage beneath the sink. The head is newly rebuilt and there is also a storage space behind it.

Accommodations

Moonbeam has multiple sleeping accommodations on board and can be found throughout the layout of the interior.

To port and aft of the companionway entrance to the interior is a twin berth in its own private cabin with some storage space as well. There is limited and varying headroom in this cabin so the comfort level is subjective but it can accommodate 2 persons.

The U-shaped settee can easily sleep one person comfortably and there is the potential to drop the main cabin table and turn the settee into a full sized sleeper.

The bench seat on the starboard side of the boat across from the settee is comfortably padded and can certainly accommodate 1 person.

In the V berth there are twin berths on either side of the companionway which can definitely accommodate 1 guest each and potentially fit more than that with the V berth center piece added.

Overall the upholstery and cushioning of all seating/sleeping areas are in great condition and would be more than acceptable to comfortably sleep on.

Tankage

This boat offers two fuel tanks, a main tank holding 38 gallons and a secondary tank holding 15 gallons.

There is a 119 gallon water tank onboard as well as a 27 gallon holding tank.

Galley

The Galley of this vessel is unique but offers everything that one would want in a blue-water cruiser or live-aboard boat. It offers a Samsung "classic collection II" microwave,a 4 burner stove top/propane oven, a deep freezer and refrigerator that are built into the counter space of the galley. The fridge has two access locations, a hinged door and a counter top piece that is removable to access the fridge space from the top. The deep freezer also has the removable counter top piece as its only access point. There is a hot and cold sink as well as tons of counter top space and storage compartments.

Engines

The boat is powered by a Yanmar 4JH2E diesel engine that is 50.3 hp and has 3907.8 total hours on it and is in very good condition,

Deck

The first thing you notice while being on deck of Moonbeam is the width of the beam and the stability of the boat.

In the images, the boat currently has her framing up for her winter storage. The boat has a custom winter cover that is used but in an okay condition.

In the cockpit your attention goes to the over sized steering wheel and NavPod control center naturally since that is mainly where navigation the vessel will occur. The cockpit offers multiple seating options with a large U-shaped alignment of bench seats to port, starboard & aft of the helm

All of the winch's are functional and in a beautiful condition. The stanchions are all secure and lifelines are in good shape as well. Overall the deck is solid and offers no soft spots to be found.

On the forward deck, located above the V-berth cabin you can find a "Switlik" 6 person life raft that is secured and packed away as well as a small dinghy.

Underneath the cockpit seats are multiple hatches for storage and access. You can find 2 propane tanks that are hooked up and used for the galley, access to the deck water supply, battery switch, Crusair A/C compressor, fuel filter manifold, and plenty of extra storage space.

The rigging for Moonbeam includes a staysail making this a cutter rigged sloop. This is the only to Norseman 400 built with a staysail rig. She offers running backstays that are rigged to balance the staysail mast forces.

Storage

The boat is currently on the hard in Delaware City, De. She will be covered with her winter cover and available for showings throughout the winter. Once the winterization occurs, a sea trial will most likely not be available until spring due to weather conditions and logistics of preparing the boat. We are willing to work with potential buyers in any way to accommodate the sale of this vessel.
