All will appreciate the several features that contribute to the unmistakable profile of the Freeport 41: the large windows, clipper bow, bowsprit, and ketch rig. Lots of room and a flexible sail plan make the boat a dream as a world class cruiser, or an excellent liveaboard at the dock.
"Windseaker" has been continually upgraded by the current owner. A "Lister Petter" diesel repowered her in 1984, and the engine was rebuilt again in 2018. Runs smooth as silk. The owner notes that these are the motors of choice for such applications as oilfield pumps where continuous operation with minimal service are paramount.
She has a newer hot water heater and LED lighting throughout. During her last haul out in 2018 all new bronze through-hulls were fitted, several coats of bottom paint were applied, and all engine and house pumps rebuilt. The sails and running rigging are all serviceable, no rips no tears. She can go sailing today.
The boat’s best feature is the aft stateroom, which offers a place to relax in comfort separated from guests or kids by a walkway and two doors.
Tall people appreciate the 6 feet 10 inches of headroom in the saloon, and everybody likes the easy stairs down from the cockpit. The galley is simply spacious. Excellent boat for a liveaboard!
