Where in the World do You want to Go?

World Class Sailing Yacht Built To Exacting Standards By World Class Boat Builder Sailtech Inc, an established aluminum boat building company located in Vancouver, B.C. Canada.

The owners choose the builder because of the level of quality in metal bending and welding used in the aluminum commercial boat industry.

Interior design was a combination of very experienced owners and Ted Brewer.

The yacht is built with 5000 series aluminum, topsides are unpainted. Bottom is epoxy with TBT antifouling. Above decks are painted with Interlux LPU.

Interior is Canadian Maple and Teak finished with varnish.

This Yacht was designed and built for two people for extended ocean cruising, which they did for many years. They are going "land based” which has made this Yacht available to new owners.

Owners Comments

A custom aluminum sloop designed by naval architect Ted Brewer. Built by SailTec Inc. in Vancouver, Canada in 1999/2000.

The sloop HENCE was designed as an ocean cruiser. She has proven herself to be safe, comfortable and seaworthy. She is a modern designed (NASA) swept fin keel, raked bow with rounded (radius) chines. The rudder is connected to a heavily reinforced skeg and rudder post.

Her cockpit is large and comfortable with full cushions and anchors for jacklines. It is protected by a handsome aluminum and glass dodger with a sailing bimini to protect from sun and rain. The cockpit has a teak foldout table and a binocular tray.

The saloon is finished with a maple sole and bulkheads outlined by teak trim. A large maple table with two leaves and deep fiddles doubles as an eating and social gathering place below.

Thick comfortable cushions are throughout the boat. The galley has a deep double sink with running hot and cold water. HENCE is outfitted with a 16 gal per hour water maker. A two burner gimbled stove has a harness and guardrail. There is a full size 12v reefer and freezer accessible from the galley.

On the port side down below is a navigator’s table with access to electrical panels, radios and a sat phone antennae for use below. The radar screen can be adjusted to be seen by the navigator from the chart table.

The head is compact with a bronze toilet and stainless steel lavatory. In heavy seas there are plenty of areas to brace. The wet locker drains into the shower drain.

There is a double aft berth and a single forward. They are fitted with lee clothes and have personal storage in each. There is a USB charging station in the forward stateroom.

The sloop HENCE is a well-founded craft and is very comfortable both at sea and at anchor.
