About this Beneteau Oceanis 423
Ipsilante is a well presented yacht and holds her own in any company. A long list of extras compliments her already great standard specification. I have carried out a maintenance regime to change wearing parts before they fail similar to the aviation industry. The engine has been serviced thoroughly annually and an oil and filter change carried out most summers. Every 3 years she has been checked by a Yanmar dealer and all items needed on top of the basic service carried out.
The interior has been looked after by my wife and is in fantastic condition. The fore cabin has an Island double bed with a sprung mattress and the port aft cabin has a special deep memory foam one. All curtains and upholstery are colour coordinated and in very good condition. The 3 cabin layout leaves plenty of saloon space and the large table can be extended to accommodate extra guests. All cabins have en suite heads and showers, electric fans and the front master suite has a portable air conditioning unit.
The galley is practical with stove, double sink, large fridge with freezer compartment and fan.
The saloon is comfortable with cushions, extra lighting and a large 220 volt fan. This can be powered through the inverter outlet adjacent to the nav table. A dedicated lap top and C Map programme is on the nav table to simplify navigation calculations.
The boat is well ventilated and light with 14 hatches that open and 5 fixed ones. All opening lights have mosquito nets and the deck opening hatches have external covers. Night draw blinds or curtains are fitted to them all.
The cockpit is wher most daytimes are spent and this one is extreamly comfortable. The folding table is perfect for lazy lunches and long evening dinners. The seats have full towelling covers and backs. The large Bimini has side screens for shade during the day and privacy at night. A second set of smaller side screens can be used when sailing.
The paserelle is solid build and is perfect to gain safe access to shore with Mediterranean stern to berthing.
All safety gear necessary is included eg. Life jackets, fire extinguishers, life raft etc.
Sailing Ipsilante is a joy. All lines lead back to the cockpit, The anchor can be deployed using either a remote controler at the anchor, a switch at the binnacle or a radio controler.
All sails and lines are in good condition and she comes with all necessary warps and fenders.
