The Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 44 is a robust classic racer/cruiser with beautifully swept lines, large cockpit, and nimble sail handling characteristics. A great combination of performance underway with an efficient interior layout and spacious accommodations below decks for owners and guests. “Between The Sheets” is a rare 2-cabin owners version purchased new by the seller. She was in fresh water most of her life and has always been afforded the best of care by her knowledgeable owner. Owner is retiring from yachting and says bring offers.
“Between The Sheets” offers the best of both worlds for cruising.
“Between The Sheets" is a rare 2 cabin owners version with a huge suite forward that has a centerline berth with port and starboard hanging lockers, bench seats and hull side shelves. Aft to starboard is an en-suite head with vanity and sink. Across the companionway to port is a separate shower with vanity and sink. Moving aft into the main salon there is a large curved dinette to port with an extra seat mounted centerline. Outboard there is plenty of storage space with removeable Teak fiddles. Flush to starboard is the roomy galley with lots of stowage and counter space. Continuing aft to starboard is the navigation area followed by a hanging locker and guest stateroom. The guest stateroom features a large berth, locker, cabinet storage and two opening ports. Opposite the navigation area to port is a second door to access the aft head. Centerline steps lead to the cockpit. Traditional Teak interior with light cream upholstery. Beautiful headliner with Teak accents. Teak and Holly sole.
Main Salon:
The spacious salon is located amidships on the port side and is a settee layout. Surrounding the large dining table located on the centerline is a fixed two-person bench/sofa with comfortable seating for an additional six around the U-Shaped settee. There is 6'4" headroom, abundant storage, two opening hull ports, large overhead deck hatch, stereo sound, and air conditioning. Traditional varnished Teak interior with light cream upholstery. Beautiful headliner with Teak accents. Teak and Holly sole.
Galley:
The galley located opposite the settee in main salon on the starboard side and is an in-line configuration. The galley is fitted with the following equipment: double stainless-steel sink with faucet, pressurized hot and cold water, sea water supplied by separate foot pump, propane stove and oven (with removable countertop), Top load Refrigerator freezer. There is plenty of storage under sink and drawers with large cabinets above the galley.
Master Stateroom:
The master stateroom occupies the forward section of the yacht and features a 6'7" x 4'10" centerline berth. There are an abundance of shelves, drawers and lockers as well as extensive storage under the berth. There are fans and reading lights on both sides of the berth. Two opening hull ports and a large opening deck hatch provide plenty of ventilation.
Master Head:
The en-suite head is to starboard and shower is portside. Each has a sink, several mirrors, opening hull and deck ports, and lots of storage in above-counter cabinets. The heads are finished with internal fiberglass units.
Guest Stateroom:
The guest stateroom has a double berth, bench seat, and a private entrance to the guest head.
Guest Head:
The large en-suite head is to port. Vanity with two sinks, mirrors, Large stall shower, opening hull and deck ports, and lots of storage in counter cabinets. The heads are finished with internal fiberglass units. Access to the salon is provided from a door in shower.
Deck and Hull:
The one-piece hull is solid fiberglass with Kevlar and supports an iron keel. This vessel was originally a centerboard version but the center board is inoperable at this time, so she has a draft of 4'11'. The rudder is a spade rudder mounted on a partial skeg. The rudder is made of fiberglass with high-density foam core and a stainless-steel internal support system. Complete bottom job 11/2021. Bottom stripped and then barrier coated, and 2 coats of paint applied.
Decks are white gelcoat with white diamond nonskid. The cockpit surface is laid with teak wood planking. The deck is wood cored.
The forward deck has a horizontal windlass mounted in the anchor locker, a bow roller and forward chain plates. Opening hatches are located at either side of the cabin top forward of the mast. Two large opening hatches sits on the centerline forward and aft of the mast.
Deck cars and fairleads are aft on the deck, close the cockpit. The traveler is centered on the sprayhood forward or the dodger and cockpit. Under the dodger, either side of the cabin entrance is a pair of dorades, quadruple sheet stoppers, a self-tailing cabin top winch and a stainless-steel rail.
The cockpit sole is teak planking. Either side of the cockpit are a pair of winches and cleats. The cockpit has two forward lockers, two aft lockers and a lazarette on the sugar scoop transom. The propane box is in the starboard aft locker. The port aft locker provides access to the steering system. The ignition panel is on starboard.
Navigation Station, Electronics and Helm:
Aft of the galley is the navigation station. The area is equipped with a storage compartment under 2'3" x 3' chart table, electric panel, large panel for flush mounting of instruments, padded navigation seat with storage underneath, bookshelves and a wet locker. The pedestal helm is located in the cockpit and fitted with a folding wheel, engine controls and electronics.
