A great opportunity to acquire a thirty feet yacht for an extremely competitive price. The Verl 900 is renowned for its seaworthiness, comfort and agility and many of this class have undertaken blue water cruising and crossed oceans.
In addition to the foregoing Verlesque has been extensively refurbished internally and is in a condition that would put many a more modern boat to shame.
Verl 900 "Verlesque"
Verlesque is a very well maintained and cherished example of this classic marque. Her sloop rig is partricularly easy to handle and her deep cockpit provides excellent security in most weather conditions. Her ballast ratio is an excellent 45% making for comfortable passages in a good and stable condition. At anchor or alongside the accommodation is particularly cozy and well finished throughout.
Verlesque benefits from being fitted with a Volvo Penta MD2020D marine diesel engine, actually a Perkins Perama in all but colour, replacing the original engine in the late 1990's.
Construction
Very heavily constructed of GRP built up in much the same way as a wooden vessel with massive beams, frames and longitudinals. Externally the rudder is protectedv by a full length skeg.
By modern standards this vessel would be considered to be vastly over engineered.
Engines
Verlesque was fitted with a new Volvo Penta MD 2020B in 1996. This is a twenty hp unit that is well suited to the vessel and is in good operational order. It drives a sail drive unit fitted with a two bladed folding propeller.
Sails and Rigging
Bermudan rig with slab reefing to the main and and deck stepped alloy mast. The vessel is rigged for flying a conventional spinnaker with pole.
Sails are said to be in a used but serviceable condition.
Inventory
Verlesque is equipped with Compass, Echo sounder; log/speed; wind speed and direction; VHF; GPS; Chart plotter and Autopilot.
She also carries a clock; barometer; horn; two bilge pumps; boat hook; navigation lights; gas alarm; warps and fenders; sprayhood and searchlight.
Accommodation and layout
The layout is traditional with a vee berth cabin forward, with infill to make a double, a quarter berth aft to starboard and a further three berths available in the saloon if required. the forward cabin is separated fron the saloon by two transverse bulkheads encompassing the heads and hanging lockers.
The saloon itself has U shaped seating to port with a single sofa opposite on the starboard side, all served with a large dining table.
The gas fired galley is aft of the saloon on the port side and fitted with a two burner, grill and oven stove with flame failure devices on all burners. The galley is fitted with a stainless steel wash basin and draining unit complete with a pressurised hot and cold water system heated by the engine or by an immersion heater when connected to shore power.
The vessel is fitted with a diesel fired warm air heating system.
