1978 Mirage 28 with 5/6 berths in 2 cabins and standing headroom. Yanmar 12hp diesel rebuilt in 2008. Much loved family boat - ideal for the East Coast, a perfect first boat!

MECHANICAL

Yanmar YSE 12hp inboard diesel engine (1978). Raw water cooled. 10 gallon fuel tank. Shaft drive to bronze 2 blade propeller. Cruising speed under engine is around 4 knots with a maximum of around 5 knots.

ELECTRICAL

Alternator charging to 2 x 60 Amp/hr 12v batteries. Solar panels trickle charge batteries.

NAVIGATION

Plastimo Contest 101 compass (2022), Autohelm ST30 echo sounder and log, Autohelm ST30 windspeed and direction VHF radio, FM/AM radio, clock and barometer, navigation lights, steaming light, tri-colour masthead light and anchor light.

SAFETY

Jackstay lifelines on side decks, danbuoy, lifebuoy, lifejackets, safety harnesses, fire extinguisher, manual bilge pump.

Her galley has a gas cooker with 2 burners and grill, icebox, electric pumped cold water supply from fixed water tank. Separate heads compartment with marine toilet. Fabric upholstery.  Removable saloon table.
ACCOMMODATION
5/6 berths including 2 V berth sin the forward cabin, 2 single settee berths in the saloon (one of which converts to a double) and quarter berth to port.

OWNERS COMMENTS

"Laxey" was purchased by her present owners in 1995 and has been based here at Tollesbury Marina, spending Summers afloat on the pontoon berth and winters ashore. She has been happily sailed along the East Coast from the Thames to the Wash. The engine was re-built in 2008 including new cylinder sleeve, piston, rings and all bearings. Her last survey was in 1995. She has just been polished and antifouled ready for the season and her interior cleaned ready for her new owners.
