Exceptionally well maintained Koopmans 40 in woodcore/epoxy with a keel centerboard.

Particularly beautiful woodcore/epoxy built Koopmans 40 offered with a centerboard. Koopmans is known for its beautiful and exceptionally seaworthy designs and this Koopmans 40 is an excellent example of that. This ship is offered by the first owner and the love that is put into it radiates from it. In addition, the owner has also not skimped on the maintenance of the ship with a refit in the winter of 2015 to 2016 as the icing on the cake. To give you an impression of the work done; the hull has been repainted, a Flexiteek deck applied, all equipment has been replaced with beautiful B&G instruments, mainsail (genoa, by the way, will be renewed in 2021) and that's just part of the list. In short, no expense has been spared to preserve this lady in her full glory.

When we take a tour aboard, on deck the Flexiteek finish naturally catches the eye. Looks sleek, gives good grip and for many people interesting, virtually maintenance-free compared to teak. The gunwales wide for a safe walk around on deck. The cockpit is comfortable and the spray hood gives a nice shelter when the weather is a little less nice. But really, I should start when we are not yet aboard. Then the first thing that catches my eye is the shiny hull. The dark blue paint combined with the deck and white superstructure gives the ship a chic look.

Inside the ship, you are welcomed into a warm and nautical interior. The matte finished flame-built cherry wood trim gives her a chic interior to match the exterior of the ship. Again, it is immediately apparent that no savings were made with the construction of the vessel.

To starboard In the stern you will find the first double cabin and to port is the wet room. Further forward in the ship on the starboard side is a large galley, equipped of course with hot and cold running water, stove, refrigerator and plenty of storage space. Opposite this on port side is the chart table with controls for the onboard systems and a repeater display for the navigation equipment mounted outside in the cockpit.

Midships is the cozy salon with comfortable sofas on both sides of the cabin and a table in the middle. In the bow is the second cabin. This is equipped with three single beds and also here, of course, the necessary closet space.

If you are looking for a ship with a beautiful line, more than excellently maintained and above all very seaworthy and therefore perfect for longer journeys in comfort and safety, then this Koopmans 40 is the ship for you. With a bonus, of course, of a centerboard so that you never again have to make the choice between sailing performance and access to that beautiful bay or that charming little harbor with limited draught.
