Artemis is one of only two ketches rigged 59' Hinckley Sou’Wester built. Her split rig provides great balance, versatility and is easily sailed by a couple. Her hydraulic furling and winches make this sail plan even easier to handle. Carbon spars keep weight down aloft and give Artemis even better performance. With the centerboard up, she draws only 6'6" allowing you to explore shallow anchorages. With the board down, she becomes a performance thoroughbred with blue water capabilities.Designed by McCurdy and Rhodes, Artemis has sleek flowing lines that will turn heads in any port. Artemis is a combination of old-world craftsmanship with advanced composite construction. The robust hull and deck are composed of hand laid Kevlar, E-glass laminates with a foam core and vacuum bagged to increase strength while reducing weight. The warm and inviting cherry interior is meticulously created by some of the finest woodworkers in the industry. Hinckley’s no compromise approach to yachts building assures that Artemis is built to last for generationsArtemis was built in 1991 for a knowledgeable and consummate yachtsman who had an open checkbook approach to building and maintaining her. When the owner decided to build a custom 154’ sailing yacht, Artemis was sold to her current owner 16 years ago. The current owners sailed Artemis seasonally from Maine to St John in the USVI. Artemis was shipped to Europe for a one-year adventure in the Mediterranean. Now, she is in St Petersburg waiting for new owners to take her sailing again. If you desire to own the finest, come inspect Artemis and be prepared to be impressed.ACCOMMODATIONSARTEMIS sleeps eight in a three-private cabin interior with three-head.
