Construction

General:

  • Hull heavy duty GRP moulding by Neil Fernando Marine LTD
  • Deck & superstructure heavy duty GRP moulding assembly by Blondecell LTD
  • Semi-displacement hull with extremely stable characteristics – even at the lowest of speeds
  • Deep V bow sections ensure a clean entry reducing drag and throwing off spray for a soft ride in high seas

Hull construction:

  • The moulding incorporates a combination of chopped strand mat and woven rovings laid up by hand using isophthalic polyester resins and powder bound mat
  • The outer surface is protected by a double gel coat, finished in dark (Oxford) blue gel. Coppercoat finish to lower hull (sandblasted & sprayed at Mylor in 2013), but subsequently antifouled 2022, black Jotun Mare Nostrum
  • The hull incorporates bilges keels/anti-roll baffles to port and starboard which enable the hull to take to the ground in an emergency
  • Watertight hatch in forward bulkhead providing access to the fore peak. Further watertight door in mid bulkhead to provide access to the engine room
  • International Woodskin finish to teak rubbing strake           

Deck, superstructure & cockpit:

  • GRP construction with end grain balsa in superstructure sides and deck head for added insulation against heat and noise
  • Teak decking to aft and lower side decks
  • Tread master deck covering to foredeck and boat deck areas
  • Cream gel coat superstructure with International Woodskin finish to exposed teak
  • Two large bathing platforms made out of teak and stainless steel, joined by stainless fold down ladder with teak platform. Additional telescopic stainless steel bathing/escape ladder on port bathing platform
