Remarks
"Shinook" is a 27 foot cruising yacht featuring a deep safe cockpit, shallow draft, long keel with winged base, and an inboard Volvo Penta engine. Her keel ballast ratio provides excellent stability, making her an ideal choice for families looking to enter yacht ownership. She comfortably sleeps 4 across two cabins and includes a separate heads compartment equipped with a sea toilet.
The galley is adequate and includes a two burner gas hob with grill and a 12V ice box for perishables. The deck stepped mast has all lines led aft. She comes with a good suit of sails, including a semi battened main and roller furling genoa. The yacht is well equipped with safety and navigation equipment, which includes a colour chart plotter, wind speed/direction, VHF, and a deck mounted life raft. Below decks is in super condition with recent varnish applied to the woodwork.
Accommodation
Below decks is bright and airy, thanks to double saloon doors, large port lights, and a deck hatch. The headlining is easy clean GRP with teak battens. The interior joinery is made of teak and mahogany faced ply, recently varnished and in excellent condition. The galley is located to port and features a slide out 2-burner hob and grill, a small sink with foot or 12V pumped fresh water, and a coolbox with lid. A 12V fridge is fitted where the hanging wardrobe is, which can be removed if more space is needed. Opposite the galley is the chart area and switch panel, with a chart table that slides in and out as required.
The saloon settees double as berths and are covered in blue fabric. The central table is removable and can be used in the cockpit. Forward of the saloon bulkhead is a heads compartment with a sea toilet and sink, along with a hanging space opposite. In the bow, there is a double berth with well upholstered cushions.

Mechanical and Rigging
Engine & Electrics
The vessel is powered by an extremely economical inboard Volvo Penta 2002. This 18hp, raw water cooled unit is fitted with a reduction gearbox driving a bronze propeller. The engine is housed beneath the cockpit sole and can be accessed from the front and above. A single lever engine control is mounted in the cockpit, along with an engine start panel featuring a protective stainless steel guard. A bank of two 115 amph batteries is mounted in the cockpit locker; these are brand new and recharged via the engine alternator. The boat includes a shore power cable and ring main.
Construction
The hull is constructed of GRP with a heavy layup. It features a white gel coat topside with an attractive red coveline stripe. This long keeled yacht has a transom mounted rudder, further attached to the lower part of the keel to increase keel length and provide protection to the propeller. The large ballast keel has a wing effect to allow the boat to dry out. The large cockpit offers good storage on both sides and at the transom, while the foredeck is excellent for going forward.
Sails & Rigging
This deck stepped, Bermudan cutter rigged yacht features a self-tacking staysail and roller furling headsail. The fully battened tan coloured mainsail is mounted in a lazy bag on the boom. The standing rigging is stainless steel, and the running rigging is terylene, both in good condition. The yacht is equipped with Lewmar self-tailing sheet winches and coachroof mounted halyard winches. The sails include the main, furling genoa, furling jib, spinnaker, and cutter sail.
