2015 Dixon 55’ 55 Downeast Kill Shot
The 2015 Dixon 55’ 55 Downeast Kill Shot is a single screw, semi-displacement hull Downeast fishing vessel powered by a Caterpillar CHP engine. The hull features a modified V design with a single rounded chine and a raked stern. The bulwarks are 28" high, and the closed stern includes a removable tuna door. The forward pilothouse showcases a traditional North East design, equipped with 5 forward facing, four side, and four aft windows in aluminum frames.
The interior is designed with forecastle accommodations, including a head, separate shower stall, and a flush toilet with a holding tank. The 2015 Dixon 55’ 55 Downeast Kill Shot is finished to yacht standards.
Killshot’s heated and air-conditioned upper pilothouse features a large convertible galley table and a galley equipped with modern appliances. Ample storage lockers and sound-reducing materials are present throughout. The navigation/steering console is located on the starboard side, featuring a pedestal-mounted pilot chair. A second steering station equipped with a hydraulic line hauler is located aft of the pilothouse on the starboard side.
The 2015 Dixon 55’ 55 Downeast is properly equipped for pelagic commercial fishing, featuring 47' Greenstick Rupp outriggers, an aluminum mast and boom, and a hydraulic Rotzler winch. This vessel is also equipped with a 1 ton ice maker and a chiller brine tank. The vessel is divided into 4 watertight compartments. The hull is molded with laminated longitudinal stiffeners and cored transverse bulkheads, ensuring a very strong structure.
