Burt and Sons of Falmouth in 1930 along the lines of a Falmouth Quay Punt. Importantly she was built as a yacht and is not a converted working boat which means the quality of the materials used in the original build is better, and the space within the boat is far more suitable for cruising than in a converted boat. Bought by the present owner in 2014 and put ashore for a meticulous and painstaking refit where every inch of the boat has been repaired of refitted as necessary. For the most part she was structurally sound and required little work on the hull, but a new laid deck was fitted, the cockpit and entrance hatch re-designed to make it safer and easier to use, and the interior was completely overhauled, the result being a stunning yet very practical classic yacht in ready to go condition. She has an illustrious history including an Atlantic circuit many years ago when she visited Brazil. The previous owner cruised extensively around the West Country, much of it single handed, and has never had cause to worry, even in nasty conditions. She is a stiff and well balanced yacht, dry on deck and predictable in her motion just as a proper boat should be. A 1930 yachting monthly article stated ‘she has been planned with obvious care to secure an able cruiser which is easy to sail singlehanded, but at the same time can be used as a summer home for the owner and his wife without that feeling of being “cramped” which most boats of less than 30ft produce’ Length on Deck 29’ + bowsprit Length waterline 27’ Beam 9’2” Draft 5’6” Thames Tonnage 9TM Working sail area 612sqft     Construction Planked in Pitch Pine fastened with copper clench nails to heavy sawn oak frames.
