The Bavaria 36 is a roomy cruiser with a good turn of speed, agile manoeuvrability and comfortable accommodation for up to eight persons across three double cabins, a large galley and a sociable saloon space.
Accommodation

Fitted with new Navy Blue upholstery throughout in May 2017.
Heating by Eberspacher diesel fired, hot-air heater unit to all cabins, with a 7 day timer controller. (Heater serviced January 2024)
Forward cabin: with a double v-shaped berth, hanging locker and further closed lockers above each side of the berth. Light and ventilation by overhead deck hatch, fitted with a roller blind.
Doors to both heads compartment and saloon
Heads Compartment forward to port: Featuring a separate en-suite access door to forward cabin. Sea toilet, Washbasin with mixer tap and pull out shower faucet, mirrored storage locker behind.
Saloon: with straight settee berths each side and a central saloon table. Fabric lee-cloths fitted. 4 X opening portlights giving good natural light & ventilation. Curtain tracks. Centerline overhead deck hatch.
Galley: ‘L’Shaped galley area to port with a Plastimo Neptune 2500 2 burner, grill & oven gas cooker, twin stainless steel sinks with covers and a mixer tap & pressurized water supply. Top opening refrigerator
Chart table: with a good size working surface with internal chart stowage and a forward facing navigator’s seat. The master 12V DC distribution panel is fitted outboard, incorporating a voltmeter display, 12V DC socket and heater controller. Garmin Chart plotter mounted ahead of navigator and VHF radio fitted next to electrical panel. JVC CD/Radio stereo
Aft Cabins: Two mirrored aft cabins with double berths, hanging & shelved lockers. 2 X Opening portlights provides good ventilation and light levels.
Mechanical and electrical systems
Volvo Penta D1-30F 30 HP, 3 cylinder indirectly cooled diesel engine – Fitted new in July 2009
Saildrive to conventional prop (Saildrive seal replaced Winter 2022/2023)

History & Construction
Built by Bavaria Yachts in 2003 and supplied to the first owners HMS Raleigh Sailing Club, and operated from the Plymouth and Dartmouth locations.
New engine and ancillaries fitted in 2009
Professionally re-fitted in May 2016 by Mashfords Shipyard, Plymouth, principle work included:
Keel dropped and checked
Mast dropped and rigging professionally overhauled
Sold to the current owners in Summer 2017 and operated from a Plymouth base as a popular and successful Cat II charter and instruction yacht.
Re-certification would be needed with some timed equipment renewals to continue in this use.
