"Katie" is a Baltic One Design 'Classic' gentleman's gaff cutter, was built in 1990 by Colin Ryan/Hoo Marina, with her wonderful lines taken from a 1880's yacht. Her GRP hull is entirely lined with varnished wood. This beautiful boat offers accommodation for 2 persons. She has been extremely well maintained

Built in 1990 by Hoo Marina / Colin Ryan in GRP (to lines taken from 1880's yacht). One of two Baltic One Design's assembled. Moulded white GRP body and decks with long encapsulated lead ballast keel. Open cockpit with double room formed under foredeck which can be secures. Hull entirely lined with varnished wood.

Comprehensive records and provenance accompanies the yacht

Accommodation :-

An open boat with a displacement hull, long fixed encapsulated lead ballast keel, counter stern. Tiller steering. Inboard engine. Solid wooden varnished mast, boom, gaff, bowsprit.

She offers a small cabin under the foredeck with two full length single berths, a Jabsco toilet under with holding tank and shelved lockers. Upholstered berth cushions and seat pads. The interior hull is panelled out with 2 inch bevelled mahogany varnished planking. All the cabinets and stowage compartments are topped with varnished wooden lids.

Galley:-

Under the side decks are the galley facilities: a single stainless sink with pumped water supply, a double gas hob, purpose-built cabinets for stowage of crockery, cutlery etc. An insulated cool box and even a cocktail cabinet with glassware. Electrically pumped cold water. Hob Gas system updated 2019

Cockpit:-

A teak cockpit sole and a raised hard wood non slip steering deck floor complement the interior. Stainless steel tanks centrally positioned under the cockpit sole.

Over the whole cockpit is a fully fitted burgundy framed awning with large clear windows and zipped access points. All is immaculately kept.

Engine:-

A new Beta Marine 16hp inboard diesel engine fitted in March 2020 [24 hrs] together with a fixed triple bladed propeller, shaft driven. The engine was professionally de-winterised, serviced and re-commissioned by a Beta engineer in April 2023. 2 batteries March 2020: both 75 amphr. Battery isolator switch. Batteries well secured below helming floor.

White Diesel only used.

50 ltrs stainless steel fuel tank, 40 litres of fresh water stainless steel tank. Holding tank approx 20litres.

• 12v power point Radio and CD player with speakers .

• Spray hood/overall framed cockpit tent by Saunders, burgundy canvas new 2014.

Work Undertaken in Current Ownership:-Katie has undergone a recent, substantial refurbishment by her current owner:

• Stainless steel standing rigging, replaced with new, 2015 and cap stays in 2020.
• Underwater- hull totally stripped back to original gel coat, followed by a 4 coat Hempacure commercial Epoxy paint treatment, 2 coats of Primacon September 2019 and Hard antifouling paint system in March 2020 and 2021 antifouling has been applied. New water line applied 2023
• Re-engined from a Yanmar GM10 to a Beta Marine 16 hp March 2020. 24 hours as at May 2023
• Re-measured for a new wardrobe of sails [Racing grade] form James Lawrence of Brightlingsea.2020. Made in cream clipper cloth rather than her old tan terylene working sails. Sails material – Terylene and Dacron as at May 2023, only 20 hours use. 2 complete suits of sales, one racing the other working.
• A new longer bespoke Gaff fitted March 2020 to enable a higher Mainsail peak and trimming. Manufactured by boat builder Simon Hipkin.
• All new running rigging and new Cap shrouds [StayLock], 2020,Additional running lines also added in 2020 to ensure traditional styles and touches.
• All work undertaken are well documented and invoices available

NOTE:- the current owner will be avaialble to assist in Katie's re commissioning when in new hands
