Confidante is a 1982 Vancouver 36 cutter rigged, double ender. She was semi custom built by Hidden Harbor Boat Works in Sarasota Florida with Airex in both the hull and deck for better insulation. This vessel was designed and crafted with extended bluewater voyaging in mind. Confidante has skeg mounted rudder and modified full keel and caries 700 sqft of sail. She performs well in almost any conditions or points of sail.
She's equiped with the very basics, Manual windlass, Windvane, 30 amp ac and 12 volt dc. There is some water stains on the interior from condensation and the running rigging is badly stained but she is in otherwise good working condition. Confidante is available to see, by appointment in New Bern NC
Confidante has life-line gates to port and starboard amid ship. The decks are open and easy to navigate. The cockpit is small, seaworthy and comfortable for 4 adults. You enter the cabin through the center-line companionway. Inside the main cabin There is a U-shaped Galley to starboard aft and a chart table to port aft. Behind the nav station is extra storage and engine access. The main engine access is under the companionway steps. Going forward there is a spacious salon with settee and pipe-berth to starboard and settee and cabinetry to port. The salon has beautiful wooden headliner, bulkheads and sole. There is a large dinning table with 2 drop-leaves. There are 6 opening ports, an overhead hatch and 2 large dorade vents for plenty of ventilation. Forward of the salon through waterproof door is the head and entrance to the forward cabin, also with waterproof door and a third waterproof door to the ancho-rlocker creating 3 waterproof chambers. The head is basic with marine head, shower and small stainless basin. The forward cabin is spacious with plenty of storage and a queen size berth to port.
