LAGNIAPPE IV has spent the first part of her life with her first owners in the Pacific Northwest, spending the first half of her life in freshwater. She's now located in Newport Beach and is ready to welcome her new owners. Also very well maintained by the local Yanmar factory authorized dealer.
Both upper and lower helms are equipped with an array of Ray Marine Electronics. There is a pair of captains chairs at the flybridge helm station which is complimented by L-shaped seating to the port and aft. To starboard are the fiberglass molded steps down to the cockpit. Aft of the seating area is open deck space with a stainless handrail.
There is a large cockpit with plenty of room for deck chairs and a table. A transom door to starboard leads to the swim platform with ladder. There is a davit off the transom for a small tender. A hatch located in the cockpit leads to the large lazarette, which boasts a great amount of storage space and allows access to the rudder assembly and engine room.
Sliding glass doors lead into a spacious salon with plenty of seating for the whole family. The Galley offers a nice compliment of appliances to include a full size over/under refrigerator freezer, microwave/convection oven, double stainless steel sink and plenty of storage. The lower helm station is to starboard with a full instrumentation and electronics.
The centerline stairs lead down to the lower companionway to three staterooms and two heads. The Master is forward with an island queen berth. Master has an ensuite head with granite counter tops, large stall shower and vaccuflush head. There is ample storage in two hanging lockers that are cedar lined and large drawers under the bed. To port is the guest head with granite counters, shower stall and vaccuflush head adjoined to the the VIP Stateroom with a double berth with ample storage and cedar lined hanging locker. Across the hall to starboard is the third stateroom which has over under bunks and two cedar lined hanging lockers.
Engine room access is via a hatch in the center of the main salon. Maintenance is a priority to the current owner, which is obvious upon entry to the engine room with clean and dry bilges. Outboard of the port engine are the recently installed air conditioning compressors. Outboard of the starboard engine is the hot water heater. The Yanmar 440 hp engines are exceptionally clean and well maintained.
Highly skilled artisans at the Alexander Marine boatyard in Koahsiung, Taiwan handcraft each Ocean Alexander 480 Sport Sedan. The pride in their craft is obvious. Wood joints are glued and secured by screws, and parquet teak decks have a clean look (no wood plugs). The counter tops lay flat, and all fiberglass surfaces have a polished gelcoat finish. The 480 Sport Sedan is loaded with standard features, including modified semidisplacement hulls and planing hulls that deliver superior performance, comfort, and great fuel economy. This hand-laid fiberglass hull is constructed by our expert artisans using only the finest materials available. The unique balsa core technology - used on the hull sides, topside, and superstructure - adds strength, reduces vibration and noise, and is very watertight. Also, anti-fouling black paint is applied to the hull bottom. Other standard features include trim tabs, engine hour meters, hinged fiberglass radar mast, cedar-lined closets, deck lights, swim ladders, platforms, and lighted stairways.
