Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 43 DS£99,500

The Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 43DS was a very successful model for Jeanneau over the years. She is an attractive and stylish looking yacht externally with a navy blue hull and teak decking, and features a very light, airy, comfortable and functional interior layout with 2 double cabins, each with en-suites, a large sociable saloon and a really good galley with ample refrigeration and storage space.
She is a comfortable and very spacious passage maker, easily handled by a couple or a short handed crew.

The huge aft cabin is the envy of many 50ft yachts – with a queen sized centre-line berth, ample storage and en-suite access to the aft shower & heads, appealing to sailors who enjoy the generous aft cabin of a centre cockpit yacht, without the limitations often found on centre cockpit yachts of a smaller saloon and reduced cockpit space.

This Jeanneau 43DS is fitted with a 75hp Yanmar turbo diesel, bow thruster, and a host of other benefits including heating, electric sheet winches, flat screen TV and microwave to name but a few.

Accommodation

The Sun Odyssey 43 DS is an indulgently spacious design offering a centre-line double berth within the large aft master cabin, en-suite aft heads with a separate shower stall, and an almost equally generous double forward cabin, again with an en-suite heads. If one wants to convert the main saloon's starboard side seating to a double berth, this particular example has the facility to do so

Equipped with an Eberspacher diesel warm air heating system with outlets throughout, and a 7 day timer/controller.  All overhead deck hatches are fitted with roller blinds A Sony stereo radio/CD player is fitted in the main saloon, with a pair of cabin speakers, and a 240V AC, flat-screened TV is bulkhead-mounted to the port forward end of the saloon and remains with the boat upon a sale.

Theforward cabin's double berth is fitted along the centre-line, with over 0.5m width to it's forward 'foot' end and good access to the bed offered by the sheer accessible breadth at its aft end. There is a very generous amount of floor space and an upholstered seat to starboard with a small vanity unit on the aft bulkhead and shelved lockers over, and a tall hanging locker fitted towards the centreline. Opposite to port is a relatively large en-suite heads. 240v sockets. 3 fixed hull ports and a larger overhead deck hatch provide excellent light levels with a further smaller opening deck hatch over the dressing area.

En-suite, forward heads compartment is generous in size, with a combination shower/mixer tap facility to the hand basin with corian surround and a shower draining sump & pump. A hand pumped Jabsco marine toilet with 'large' bowl is fitted. Light and ventilation is provided by an overhead hatch.

Themain saloon is at a raised level - a step above that of the forward cabin - and refreshing light levels are encouraged by a generous sweeping window area, the 'light and bright' theme continues through the colour of the cream upholstery and use of warm toned veneers and contrasting hardwoods. A large pedestal-mounted table is offset to starboard, with welcoming wrap-around seating offering some snugness for after dark. The table may be lowered and a cushion is included to be able to use the seating in conjunction with the lowered table as a generous sized double berth.

A good sized fixed 'Chart Table' is located to port between two seats with adjacent main 12v DC and AC electrical distribution panels and navigational displays.

A very largeL-shaped galley area is to starboard that incorporates a large 1½  bowl stainless steel sink and a very large, top-opening refrigerated cool box, with a separate insulated cool box. An ENO two-burner gas hob and oven is fitted and protected by a stainless crash bar/handrail, a 220-240V AC microwave is fitted beneath the sink in a locker that previously housed a fitted washing machine. There is a range of closed storage lockers under the side deck and two large top opening lockers under the galley flooring. The large amount of closed stowage space offered by this galley is remarkable as much by its sheer volume, as by particularly clever design - it works as a result of refreshing simplicity combined with space in all areas.

Aday-use heads compartment located immediately to port of the foot of the companionway and this door may be secured from within to offer en-suite facilities to the aft master cabin. A separate enclosed shower stall within this heads compartment makes for comfortable showering. Moulded basin with Corian surround. Mirrored under-deck locker. A hand pumped Jabsco marine toilet is fitted with a holding tank facility provided.
Abaft the galley, accessed through a doorway on each side of the companionway, the very large Master Cabin stretching across the whole stern and features a large centreline double berth. Good light levels from two fixed hull ports, with two opening portlights to the cockpit well and two small opening roof hatches ensuring good cross-ventilation in hot climes. Upholstered dressing seats are fitted to either side of the cabin, and a double-door hanging/shelved locker to each side too. To either side of the berth itself, there are top-access lockers for bulky items. A forward locker with deep-fiddled top provides small-item stowage and two access panels to the rear of the engine space. 2 X 240v sockets.
