This Blue Water Cruising Yacht was designed by Hywel Price and built by Bristol Steel Boats. A Bermudan Cutter Rig, Steel Multi-Chine Hull Construction, 6 Berths in 3 Cabins, Center Board Keel, Wheel Steering and originally designed for single handed sailing. Built in 1999 and commissioned in 2000.

Construction: Multi-Chine Steel Long Keel Hull with Centre Plate - main frames of 4mm rolled steel bar attached to steel open floors. Steel deck beams are bracketed above to support the topsides.
The hull shell strakes are of 5mm steel plating below the water line. Top Sides & Deck Areas of 4mm steel plating.
The main steel hull structure is wholly welded which was originally undertaken to a high standard by Co Coded Welding.

The Hull was grit blasted below the waterline in February 2009 and was the subject of Jotun Epoxy Treatment. It was also re-painted in dark blue 2010.

Accommodation
This yacht has a large cockpit area with a companionway which leads into the main saloon.
On the starboard side there is a galley equipped with a Smev Gas Cooker/Grill with a 4 ring gas hob burner, twin stainless steel bowls, a 12volt Fridge and storage cupboards. Further aft behind the galley is access to the aft quarter which provides a useful storage area.
Opposite the galley on the port side is access to an aft cabin with a separate chart table, instrument panel, storage lockers and double berth.
The main saloon has a centre fixed table with a folding leaf on one side and bench seating on either side. There are also two pilot berths one on either side. The upholstery is finished in a dark green velor dralon fabric, joinery finished in teak, marine ply and maple veneer head linings. The head height in the main saloon is at least 6'6".
Further forward on the port side is a heads for day use equipped with a sea toilet and wash basin..
Further forward is the owner's cabin with a generous size double V berth, bench seat, storage wardrobe and drawers. This cabin also has an en suite on the starboard side equipped with a sea toilet, wash basin and shower.
The boat is fitted with an Eberspacher Airtronic D4 warm air heating system

Hywel Price the designer of this yacht was an interesting character, originally born in Chester, with a career that spanned racing motor cycles to re-building crashed RAF aircraft, working in a car factory, training as a master carpenter and working in the theatre before settling in Bristol.
Price had throughout his life enjoyed sailing old gaffers around the UK coastline and fishing for lobster in the Isle of Man
Bristol is where he took over a boat yard and was responsible for the design of Icelander boats as well as designing and building one of the first yachts to take part in the Falmouth to Azores and back race in 1975.
Hywel Price made a major contribution to the marine industry with his initiative designs and built a number of boats using different materials before his death in 2012.
