Beautiful and well maintained example of the Dehler 36 CWS. The ethos behind this boat shines through and she will appeal to both the cruising family and the racing fraternity thanks to her ease of handing, her speed and her generous accommodation. She is a fun, good looking craft with an inventory that will appeal to all. With constant upgrades through the years, there is little to do to her. She has been copper coated in 2011, New Profurl 320 roller reefing and full standing rigging installed 2020, New diesel fired cabin heating in 2020,New stack pack, sprayhood and wheel covers in 2017.
Comes complete with excellent navigation aids including TackTick wind speed/direction, depth, Garmin UHD 95SV colour Chartplotter, Vesper 8000 AIS and Standard Horizon GX1400E DSC VHF.
The vessel is powered by a well maintained, powerful yet economical inboard Yanmar diesel. The 3GM30F is a 27hp, 3 cylinder workhorse which burns a frugal 1.5litres per hour under engine. At 5 knots this gives a motoring range of 400 miles which is not to be sniffed at. The engine is situated beneath the companionway steps allowing easy access for servicing and daily checks.
Servicing takes place at the back end of each season so that fresh oil sits in the engine over the winter months. Engine start panel with audible and visual warings for high temperature, low oil pressure and low charging. Although original, the engine has been well maintained with replacements to the ancillary fittings such as water trap, fuel system, sea cocks and shaft seal under taken. Reduction gearbox with stainless steel shaft and twin bladed auto feathering propeller.
Bank of 3 X 12V batteries providing engine start and domestic power. These were replaced in 2021 and are fitted with key type isolators. The batteries are recharged via the engine alternator or the 40amp Sterling Pro Charge Ultra onboard battery charger/shore power system.
Bermudan sloop with deck stepped aluminium spars and 7/8ths mast head rig. As previously stated all lines are led aft to an electric powered self tailing winch making short handed sailing a reality. The mainsail is fully battened making her easier to trim and reef. This coupled with the boom mounted Dehler "Main Drop" makes raising and dropping the sail very easy indeed. Tacking is simplicity itself thanks to the self tacking foresail. The standing rigging has been completely renewed in 2020 along with a new roller furling system for the headsail. Whilst the mast was down all the navigation lights were replaced with LED and all mast electric cables and antenna cables were replaced which gives peace of mind for her new owner for many years to come.
The running rigging is a mixture of Dyneema and cruising dyneema and has been replaced/cleaned on an ongoing basis. This is all in very good condition. All the winches were serviced earlier this year. The sails are by Kemp and include a 2011 fully battened main and a 2007 self tacking Jib whose UV strip was replaced in 2020. All sails were laundered and checked by local sail maker in 2020.
Very well equipped boat that has benefitted from regular upgrades over the years. Included in the sale are:
Below decks does not disappoint and is an oasis of calm thanks to her bright interior and comfortable upholstery. The interior woodwork is light ash which contrasts nicely with the navy blue fabrics.
She can sleep 6 persons with ease in the two sleeping cabins plus the saloon. The galley is to port and is 2.5 meters long giving plentiful preparation areas and storage options. This features a gas fuelled 3-burner hob with oven, a stainless steel sink with pressurised hot and cold water and a front loading fridge with separate ice compartment.
Aft of the galley on the port side is the spacious head with marine toilet, sink unit and shower. This bright, easy clean space has cubby hole stowage and a mirrored unit.
Opposite the galley is the outboard facing chart table/navigation area with flip out seat and switch panel. Here you will find a chart reading light, NEW DSC VHF, Battery Monitor and various repeaters for the navigation aids situated at the helm.
Aft of the chart table on the starboard side is the spacious aft double cabin. Here you will find plentiful locker storage and shelving, hang space, 12V lighting and a heating outlet for the NEW Planar diesel fired heating system installed in November 2020.
Opposite the galley is the huge saloon seating area with large wooden drop leaved table. This has excellent hull mounted stowage and further areas beneath the settees. This area converts to a sizable double if required.
In the bow is the large double cabin with double V Berth, hanging space for foul weather gear, lots of lockers for personal effects and the added bonus of a pull out sink. Deck head lighting and an opening roof hatch for additional light and ventilation. Heating outlet.
As with all Dehler's, they are built to a very high standard using good quality materials and innovative onboard features. The 36 CWS , Central Winch System, is no exception and the sailors among you will be both curious and then delighted as to how easy to sail she is without compromising on performance and fun. As the name suggests, everything is controlled by an electric winch situated just forward of the helm. This means that the yacht can be easily sailed single handed or by an inexperienced crew, but will come into their own when handled by an experienced helm.
Constructed in GRP to a Van de Stadt design. As with most of his designs they are based on a long waterline which are ideal for our sea conditions here in the UK. She has what's called an "upside down" keel which makes her excellent in light airs but more importantly very stiff in a breeze. Her under water areas were sand blasted and then epoxied using the renowned Coppercoat System in 2011. This is the system that gets better with age and is a huge bonus to those on a tight winter schedule or in a marina where boat yard storage is non existent. Topsides are in white flow coat and in super condition. Non slip decks are wide and allow easy access for the crew. Large self bailing anchor locker with lid, houses an electric windlass with hand operated controls. Flush hull to deck moulding with stepped aft side deck aids in clearing the occasional wave quickly.
Large self bailing cockpit with simulated teak topped seating and large storage locker to port. Cockpit coamings are angled in such a way to increase comfort to the crew when heeled. Curved and raised helm seat gives the helm greater visibility. The seat is removable giving access to the bathing platform. Binnacle mounted stainless steel large diameter wheel with leather trim for comfort. Binnacle mounted navigation aids. Electrically powered central winch mounted on a bracket with push button controls.
