DESCRIPTION

This well-equipped example of the popular First 305 has been in her current ownership for ten years. The inventory includes electric windlass and behind the mast mainsail furling, as well as hot water and fridge. There has been a continual program of renewing equipment over the current ownership including some replacement headlinings, new water tanks, new toilet, some electronics and sails. She has been well cared for and there is a May 2021 insurance survey available.

Accommodation

Six berths in three cabins with full headroom. V berth forward with hanging locker. Two settee berths in saloon with folding leaf table. Galley to port with Plastimo Neptune 2000 gas cooker with two burners, grill and oven. Double stainless steel sinks with covers and new mixer tap. Isotherm 12v fridge unit to insulated ice box. Large forward facing chart table to starboard opposite galley. Separate heads compartment aft to starboard with Jabsco marine toilet (new June 2021). 40 litre holding tank. Aft cabin to port with large double berth and hanging locker. Aft cabin deck linings require attention in places.

Pressurised hot and cold freshwater supply to galley sinks, heads basin and shower. Larger than standard freshwater capacity of around 300 litres and new tanks in 2019. Water heated via calorifier and 240V immersion heater. Wood headlining to saloon. Teak and holly saloon floor. Blue and white striped upholstery. Two 12V sockets for phone charging.

Mechanical Systems

Located under companionway in soundproofed and vented compartment. 1987 Yanmar 2GM20F, twin cylinder, 18hp marine diesel engine. Freshwater cooled. Electric start. Shaft drive via P-bracket to folding two-bladed propeller. Cutless bearing & stern gland will require replacement soon. Single lever engine controls. 27 litre fuel capacity. Approx 5 knots cruising speed.

Electrical Equipment

Two 12V batteries in two banks charging via engine alternator via split charge relay. One 110ah battery new June 2021. 240V shore power charger. Solar panel with charge controller to both batteries. 12V switch panel.

Sails & Spars

Masthead bermudan sloop rig. Deck stepped silver anodised aluminium, single spreader mast and boom by Z-Spars. Stainless steel standing rigging, new in 2010. Terylene running rigging, led aft to Spinlock clutches. EastReef behind the mast mainsail furling system. Furlex headsail furling system. Spinnaker pole. Whisker pole. Short bow sprit. Two Lewmar 40 sheet winches. Two Lewmar 8 secondary winches on coachroof.

Construction

Built by Beneteau, France in 1987. White GRP hull with alloy toe rails. Underwater hull Coppercoated approximately 2010. White GRP coachroof with moulded-in non-skid decks. Cast iron fin keel. Tiller steering to spade rudder. Tiller extension. Self-draining cockpit and anchor well. Liferaft stowage at aft end of cockpit. Teak coachroof handrails and cockpit seat slats. Small bathing platform with folding bathing ladder.
