Designed by renowned yacht designer David Thomas and built in the Hamble  BEE is a bespoke  Badnam Launch; a lightweight custom classic. Featured in Classic Boat magazine in 2000 she was designed as an incredibly versatile boat for coastal waters and rivers. BEE was originally moored in Chichester Harbour and enjoyed many happy years around the Solent before coming up to the Thames with her current owner. She also has a bespoke trailer for transport and storage so could travel anywhere a new owner may fancy.

Bee is a handsome estuary, river or lake launch with a lovely dining table and the settee berths obviously allow overnighting should you so wish. However she is really the ultimate day launch with comfortable seating for six in the aft cockpit and bench seating for the same number or a couple more in the cabin. This is a year round launch set to be a contemporary classic with her light robust build technique (see below) and quiet yet powerful Honda outboard. I love the new aft canopy over the very smart cockpit area. Available for viewing on the Thames between Henley and Marlow by appointment.

BEE underwent a major refurbishment in 2016 and is presented in excellent condition and now has diesel heating throughout the boat in addition to the lovely interior refurb and canopy. Invoices are available testifying to the work carried out.

Hull Construction: Double diagonal 3 layer 3mm Lloyds approved Gaboon ply on 20mm x30mm Southern Yellow Pine stringers at 130mm spacing. Keel and Hog in Southern Yellow Pine. All precoated and bonded using epoxy. Sheathed with 2 layers of 300grm glass cloth and epoxy, with 6 extra layers to high water areas.
Teak Deck and cockpit sole construction. 12 mm Marine Gaboon ply sheathed with 300 grms glass and epoxy.4mm edge sawn teak planks epoxy bonded to glass cloth, seams primed and payed with polyurethane sealant. Deck beams 25mm x 40mm laminated yellow pine 
Bulkheads, Locker fronts and coach roof slides in 12mm marine ply.
Rubbing strakes, capping and stern in Brazilian mahogany
Paint system:Hull all over 3 coats International 820 high build epoxy primer, topsides 2 coats International Polyurethane basecoat, , 3 coats International 809 High gloss 2 pack polyurethane. Boot top I coat chlorinated rubber paint. Superstructure precoated with epoxy , 1 coat 820 high build epoxy primer, 1 coat Polyurethane basecoat, 3 coats 809 High gloss, 2 pack polyurethane. Outside mahogany trim, 8 coats 2 pack polyurethane varnish. Interior precoated with epoxy and finished with 2 coats 2 pack polyurethane varnish

2 burner gas cooker with grill, Stainless steel sink, Fresh water hand pump. Space for fridge. Raised settee with space for ice box /freezer under settee berths in saloon, saloon table, toilet
