Unique opportunity to purchase and sail one of the most desirable weekend yachts ever produced. Described by the Encyclopaedia of Yacht Designers as "one of England's best known yacht designs" she was introduced to the British yachtsman in 1937. She remained in production until 1959 before wooden boat builders started to experiment with new building techniques and materials such as plywood as a more cost effective and easier to maintain alternative. There were a few different models of Blakes design, both in sail plan and deck plan. This is the gaff rigged option and raised accommodation deck that gives a bit more room in the cabin. 

Her carvel built hull is finished in smart green paint, Her decks have recently been painted and her brightwork is varnished ready to go. Reliable inboard Nanni, recent rewire and serviceable sails. 

Early viewing recommended. 

Saloon is entered from the cockpit by removable saloon style doors. Sliding hatch gives excellent access. Two steps down into the saloon with galley area to port. This features a 2 burner gas hob with Grill. This is currently unused with the gas supply removed. Comfortable seating/berths port and starboard with storage beneath. Fore peak with shelved storage, chain locker and sail storage. Wooden dining table which can be used in saloon or cockpit. Circular brass portlights with glass inserts.

Carvel constructed sailing yacht with larch on oak frames. Long keel with cast iron shoe ballast. Transom and keel mounted rudder with varnished tiller steering, Large cockpit with painted removeable boards giving access to engine. Varnished teak locker tops and companion way doors. Raised accommodation deck painted in cream nonslip decks. Cockpit locker storage. 

Green painted topsides with recently varnished coach roof sides. Teak sliding access hatch. Teak varnished fore hatch with glass port light. Teak bowsprit. 

Vessel is powered by a 10hp inboard Nanni Diesel. This looks to have been overhauled relatively recently and has had a nice paint job. Engine is situated beneath the cockpit sole. This allows all round access for servicing. Engine was serviced at the back end of the Summer 2020 and starts on the button. Single lever engine control with forward and reverse gearing. Stainless steel shaft driving 3-bladed bronze propeller.

Bank of 2X12V batteries fitted with rotary isolator switch. These are recharged via the engine alternator and the deck mounted solar panels.. 

Gaff rigged sailing yacht with deck stepped spruce mast, Galvanised steel mast foot. Varnished spruce boom with bronze collar. Gaff boom. The mast had a repair in 2021. Mast, booms, bowsprit and tiller handle all varnished in 2021. 

Galvanised wire standing rigging. Terylene and braid on braid running rigging. Traditional Tufnell blocks and cleats. Set of rigging including some brand NEW pieces.

Traditional set of tan sails in good condition. These include a mainsail and two hank on fore sails. Traveller hoop at stern.
