Accommodation
The Westerly Longbow accommodation offers up to six berths in two cabins with good headroom of around 6'1" in most areas.
FORECABIN - Fitted with a V berth with infill to create a double berth, beneath berth stowage, shelves, and opening hatch to foredeck.
HEADS - Separate heads compartment to port with marine toilet, holding tank (new 2010), washbasin with combined shower head, storage cupboard, and a hanging locker opposite to starboard.
SALOON - Consisting of a long L-shaped settee to port (which can convert to a double berth), saloon table, shorter settee to starboard, and plenty of storage in various cupboards and lockers.
GALLEY - Linear galley forward to starboard equipped with a Plastimo Neptune 2000 two-burner gas cooker with grill and oven, stainless steel sink, coolbox, and good storage.
CHART TABLE AND QUARTER BERTHS - Aft to starboard is a stow-able aft-facing chart table over a quarter berth, with a larger quarter berth to port.
GENERAL EQUIPMENT - Teak woodwork with vinyl linings which look to have been renewed to a high standard in the past. Cotton upholstery (new saloon covers 2020) with cream curtains and carpets. Pressurised hot and cold water supply via a Sigmar stainless steel calorifier (new 2009 together with many other plumbing components). Eberspacher D2 diesel fired warm air heating system (new 2009/10).
Mechanical Systems
Located abaft companionway, Watermota Sea Panther 25hp 4-cylinder diesel engine. Freshwater cooled via heat exchanger. Twin lever controls with electric start. Shaft drive to three-bladed propeller.
The engine appears in good cosmetic condition, in 2007 it had a top-end overhaul and then in 2013 had an upgraded glow plug preheat system installed to improve cold starting.
Electrical Systems
2 x 12v 105ah Batteries charged via engine alternator. Shorepower system with power outlet and breaker. Electrical distribution panels. Battery breaker switch. Full cabin lighting.
In 2009 the electrical systems were upgraded with Seaworld electrical distribution panels with individual breakers and many other new components including a new shorepower installation.
Spars and Sails
Sloop rigged. Anodised aluminium masts and boom. Stainless steel standing rigging. Terylene running rigging (new 2020). Slab reefing mainsail. Rotostay headsail furling system. 2 x Gibb 7CR sheet winches. 2 x Antal W16 self-tailing halyard winches at companionway (most lines led aft to cockpit). 2 x Mast mounted halyard winches.

Construction
Westerly Longbow built in 1973 by Westerly Marine Construction to a design by Laurent Giles. Blue GRP hull (professionally resprayed and epoxy coated in 2019) with white GRP superstructure and light blue painted non-slip decks. Teak rubbing strakes. Cast iron fin keel. Tiller steering to skeg hung rudder. Aft self-draining cockpit.
