Purchased as a project this example of a custom built steel boat based on a Van De Stadt design gives a very sea worthy vessel. Built in Holland in 1977 she has sailed extensively around the UK in her life time and in Northern France. She has a 28hp Beta engine with Selva sail-drive. Engine has just been serviced and the sail-drive was reconditioned with all new bearings in 2017. The current owners have refurbished the steel deck and below the waterline along with new additions throughout. Raymarine chart plotter, radar, speed/depth/log/wind, electric windlass, VHF DSC + SSB radio.

Marabella

Marabella was built in Holland and is based on a Van De Stadt design. She is custom built and was purchased by her current owners in 2016 from Bideford in the Bristol Channel.

She has since made her way to Cardiff which is currently her home port. Marabella has been a live-aboard for 2 years and the current owners have lived comfortably on board whilst cruising the Bristol Channel.

Extensive works have been completed on Marabella as she was neglected for some years by her previous owners due to an unfortunate death in the family.

The current owners have worked tirelessly to restore her to the true ocean sailing yacht that she once was where she sailed extensively within the UK and Northern Europe.

Marabella went through a full and expensive refurbishment in 2006/2007 at Appledore boatyard where she was completely re-plated and her accommodations being completely re-designed.

The current owners have continued on the same route by ensuring not only that she looks good but that structurally she is sound for future sailing adventures.

She had some re-plating work completed in mid 2016 with her hull being repainted in navy blue and the boat antifouled. Marabella was lifted out for winter storage in December 2016 when the superstructure was completely stripped back and refurbished in 2016/2017. The engine was pulled out and the sail drive was completely refurbished and rebuilt in early 2017.

She has a fantastic rig set up with an additional stay for a storm jib, a spinnaker pole and good sails. She comes with good navigation equipment and no penny has been spared on maintaining her in recent years.

Marabella has just had a new fridge installed and a spray hood made in navy blue. She has all new fire extinguishers with an automatic extinguisher in the engine bay.
