Built as a Universal 39, this fiberglass-hulled beauty received an extensive, professional refit in 2005 which included a 4-foot swim-step extension, bringing her length to 43' overall. The list of upgrades is extensive. The present owner purchased the vessel in 2012 and commissioned the same shipyard to complete additional upgrades prior to bringing her to Alaska, where she spent five years exploring Prince William Sound. In 2017 the yacht returned to Puget Sound waters and the same highly-experienced boat yard for further work, bringing "Room Seven" to her current top-notch, cruise-ready configuration.

twin Perkins 6-cylinder diesel engines, each of which is paired to a straight-drive reduction gear, twin disc transmission with a 2.44:1 gear ratio. Outboard of each engine is a 200-plus gallon fuel tank. A removable hatch between the engines accesses the starting battery bank.
